One of the pillars of primitivity is popping pills. Any pills, in fact, are ok to gobble up and eat if you are a primitive. Worrying about what kind of pill it is comes secondary to the primary concern of actually gobbling them. Naturally, maintaining this pillar of primitivity creates a lot of empty prescription bottles.
Up until now, I don't think any of us have found a use for the primitives, except for maybe torch fuel, or something along those lines. Although the "product" the primitives are producing is actually a byproduct of their bad habits and addictions, it's still better than their usual value and net contribution to society of zero:

"While first world nations throw away perfectly good medicine bottles, medical pharmacies and hospital facilities in Malawi often find themselves with nothing except torn pieces of paper in which to wrap medicine for their patients. This is often seen in rural hospitals and villages where the poorest of the nation try to live and survive. You can help to change this.
Save up a group of your containers when you have completed that portion of your prescription. Place them in boiling water until you are able to easily remove the labels, and the glue. Then box or bag them and send them to the Malawi Project for shipment to Malawi.
It will help families in a third world country keep their medicines clean, out of reach of small children, and safe while they are being used."

All primitives have plenty of empty prescription bottles just floating around. Popping pills is as much a part of primitivity as apple pie is to good and decent people.

2. Thank you so much for this info.
We don't have a lot of these, fortunately, but I am delighted to know they can be re-used.
"A lot" is subjective. This primitive probably has two sheds in the backyard full of empty prescription bottles.

8. Thanks! Already fired off
an email to local friends asking them to save any empties for me.
A primitive and a few friends will be all that is necessary to provide Malawi with more than enough bottles.

9. I will do exactly that.
I already have a little stash of them just because I hate to waste things like that. This is a great post. Thanks for sharing.

18. Yeah--I have repurposed as I can, and the rest have gone into the recycling bin, but this
is even better.

10. Bookmarking. I take a lot of meds
This is a good idea. Thanks.
I'll check them out later and get a box out in the next week or month.
I think you see why this is a great idea to make contact with the primitives for their bottles.

11. This would be a good project for Nursing Homes. Someone could drive a circut and pick the
bottles up ever so often, like once every 90 days.
But if we euthanize the elderly, who will take their pills so that they still have empty bottles to give??
