Jesus admonished His followers to feed the hungry. How much does He weep when your party ...
...
Jesus bade his followers to care for the sick. How many tears has He shed as he’s watched Republicans repeatedly ...
Ummmmm ...... NG ..... Jesus' commands are - as you stated without realizing the significance of what you wrote - to His followers. Not to governments. Not to political parties. Not commanding his followers to use the power of government to do those things using the money of non-believers. Instructing believers what they should, themselves, do as part of their ordinary lives.
You know, if you actually read the New Testament (which apparently you haven’t), you would know that Christ never once spoke out against homosexuality – not once.
...
You really should acquaint yourself with Christ’s teachings, Huckster. He was a rather remarkable fellow. He said a lot of things you could really learn from ...
NG, follow your own advice. Read what He said, not what you wish He had said. And by the way, on multiple occasions Jesus affirmed the rightness of the Law of Moses. You know, the Law of Moses that condemns homosexual acts as abominations. In particular ... you know that sermon you love so well ... the one where Jesus spoke of, "Judge not ..." ... the one where Jesus spoke of "turning the other cheek" ... the one where Jesus spoke of, "Do unto others" ... the one where Jesus spoke of, "Blessed are the peace-makers"? Jesus said, in that same sermon:
Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish these things but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth pass away not the smallest letter or stroke of a letter will pass from the law until everything takes place. So anyone who breaks one of the least of these commands and teaches others to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever obeys them and teaches others to do so will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Like some one said, "You really should acquaint yourself with Christ’s teachings ... He said a lot of things you could really learn from." Worry less about what ministers who you'll probably never meet know and understand; worry more about what you know and understand, NG.
