I'm lucky

I'm lucky

I'm American and Caucasian - there's a lot of luck right there.

I'm educated (bachelor of Science, little post-grad)

I was just reading an article about someone in a particular regime who survived torture. I've never been tortured.

I have a job and insurance. Not quite as much as I'd like, but probably far more than most.

I have a mortgage underwater, but we're paying our bills. I'm not homeless. Many are.

I'm still married, but that's a miracle to me. Long story.

I have a house and multiple vehicles. Where we live, it's not a major deal to have some acreage and multiple vehicles, but I know it's a luxury most don't have.

I have multiple dogs. I'll happily give one away, but the rest we'd like to keep. I know many people can't have pets where they live.

I have major medical conditions, but I deal with them. Many don't have insurance. My medical condition is chronic and fatal, but I have help. Many don't.

As the saying goes, I don't know where I'll be 100 years from now, but I know where I'll be tomorrow. As it happens, that's more than most people can say. I do have a bed tonight and a dog or two to join me and my wife. We'll be okay.

Whenever I think something sucks, I always realize that someone, somewhere, has it worse. It's important to keep your life in perspective. I'm not dying from 110+ degree heat in India, I wasn't buried in an avalanche, I have various luxuries that I'm tempted to take for granted.

I remember being at an AA meeting and hearing from someone who was partially paralyzed, abused, thrown against walls, had teeth knocked out, and so much more. I'm lucky. I haven't had anything close to make my life miserable.

Perspective is important, but sometimes hard to come by.

What the hell is the point of this story?

It seems to me we've had some entertaining crazy posts from DUmmy Tab in the past, but can't remember his particulars.

Anyway, this pointless bouncy proves once again that DUmmies lie, all the time.

What the hell is the point of this story?

http://www.democraticunderground.com/10026823212

Now this is damned effective moling.  Lets break it down:

Prefaces by saying he is white to draw the dummies in. They hate them some white people.

Then says he is educated with a BS. Not Womyn's Studies in other words. Gets more cred by referencing Bush with torture. Says he has a job and insurance, slaps to the dummies, but then eases it by saying not as much as I like. Every dummie will understand that. Then slaps them upside the head by saying that he has far more... not more, faaaar more, than most.  Eases that by saying he has an underwater mortgage, then slaps the dummies by saying he is not homeless.

Says he is married.  Hints at problems with "long story".

Then he slaps the dummies silly by saying he has multiple vehicles and eases it by saying many don't.

Says he has multiple dogs and slaps those dummies that cannot have pets due to the rent rules. Again eases it by saying many don't.

Brings up the medical condition, then pulls an OS and says it is fatal, then says many don't have help. Now this is just brilliant!  No self respecting mole is gonna emulate OS, are they?  Of course not!   :whistling:

Lords it over the dummies that he has a bed under a roof.  Then explains to the dummies that no matter how bad it is, it could be worse. Brings up India. Surprised that he didn't toss in climate change for extra oomph.

Gets more cred by saying he was an alky, but slaps the dummies by saying he was at AA, and then tempers that with a sob story about some poor abused soul at the AA meeting.

All in all, I rate this a 9.1 out of a perfect 10 on the moling scale.

Mentioning India gave him overpopulation cred.

Yeah, he missed the Gorebull Warmingtm bandwagon.  That would have earned him at least a 9.6 out of 10.

Again, I love I_B_Perky's analysis.
I have to take my hat off to that mole.

It has been a long, long time since I have had the pleasure to witness a bouncy this well crafted - The quality suggests this is a long-time mole - who has mastered the art of primitive tweaking. Well done.

I thought the OS fatal disease syndrome was flat out genius.

Especially the OS fatal disease syndrome. That gives him non mole cred in spades.  I fully expect to see that in future moling and bouncies.

Heh! Slowly dying OS finally hit on something that he will be remembered for.  The OS Extremely Slow Fatal Disease Syndrome.  :lmao:
