Help an Elderly Man In NEED!!!


My father is very ill with pancreatitis, 2 forms of degenerative arthritis, a failing liver and high blood pressure. He lives in La Junta, Colorado where he has established a great relationship with his doctor, who has saved his life more than once. His weight was 115 lbs when he moved to Colorado 2 years ago, at 6'1-6'2 that is near death. He has gained weight and is now at 135 lbs. This is due to the great care of his doctor! I live over 500 miles away and am his nearest living relative. I just graduated the University of Oklahoma with my BA in English Literary and Cultural Studies. I am the first one in my family to graduate college. Now that I have accomplished this I need to move to La Junta Colorado to care for my father. He falls often due to his severe muscle loss and has problems with his memory. He is on disability but does not have hospice care. He cannot remember if he has taken his medicine so sometimes he misses it or doubles up on it. This is very dangerous in his condition. I need to be able to clean his home, cook his meals, monitor his medicine and ensure that he is getting the care that he needs. I am destitute after 6 years of college as a single mother. I cannot afford the move. We are asking for the help of the Democratic Community to help us to reach this goal so that I can move my family from Norman, Oklahoma to La Junta, Colorado. Even if you cannot donate to his cause, please share our fundraiser on Facebook or Twitter with your family and friends in the hopes that we reach as many people as we can so we can reach our goal. We will need to put a deposit on a new house, deposits on utilities, we are trying to sell most of our belongings because we will not be able to afford to move them, but we will still need a small moving truck which will be almost $700. Probably has as much to do with competency in English as a Transgendered Pacific Islander Art Studies Degree.

Strangely enough, only once did I see a beggar during my stint in the South Pacific.
Many of them had very little, but all seemed capable of independently providing for them and theirs.
