A manhunt is underway for four suspects involved in the shooting of a St. Louis police sergeant in his car early this morning.
Authorities say that a gunman, described as a black male between 18 and 22, fired shots at the 39-year-old officer just before 5 a.m. in the city’s Central West End.
The suspect and three other African-American males fled in a gray Ford Taurus, and one of the four suspects may have been hurt, police say.
New video shows the officer’s car riddled with bullet holes. Authorities say that the officer was targeted in the shooting.
The sergeant, a 16-year veteran of the force, was rushed to the hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.
