It's time to deliver the death blow.
 Advertisements [?]Every boxer and every soldier with any real experience is familiar with this moment. The enemy is battered and bloodied. The fight has been epic and relentless. Exhaustion has overtaken both sides. Breath comes heavy and hard, the battle is nearly over, and victory is at hand. The enemy is on his back, or against the ropes. His eyes are swelled half shut and he wobbles on his feet. Or he lies before you in the mud, injured but still reaching for his weapon.

The time has come to finish the job.

The criminal neo-con cabal running America has held nearly continuous political power since rising from the swamp of American politics in the immediate post-Watergate era. They weren't born then, but they emerged from the shadows and firmly seized the reigns of power in that period of chaos and change. Since then, with only brief interruption, they have menaced and held hostage the American Republic and have brought it quite literally to death's door. The Bush/Cheney administration is merely the latest morphing of the same scum-creature that brought us most, if not all of the scandals and political crimes of the last 30 years. The litany is nearly endless and most aware Americans could list pages of filth. We all know this.

Many of us have been fighting this beast for many years. We have seen blows delivered and felt the counter-blows. We have seen elections come and go - won, lost and stolen. We have seen prosecutions and imprisonments - on both sides. We have witnessed the battle ebb and flow. We have seen riots and vigils and lies and lies and lies. And sooo much death, abroad and also at home. But most disturbingly, we have seen the vile creature rise to it's feet, time after time, delivered from the jaws of defeat.

The beast was knocked silly at the end of the Reagan years. The light of truth was briefly shown into the gutter of the evil cabal. Investigations moved forward, some criminals meet with conviction. Doors were slowly creaking open. The enemy was on his back. Iran Contra led to BCCI, which led to more, which led to more... and then... we relented.

After all, why kick your enemy when he's down? Aren't we better than that? Why finish the job? Why expose the delicate sensibilities of "the people" to such nastiness? Better to forgive and forget - to move on in the spirit of togetherness and compassion. And of hope. So our fine leaders holstered their weapons and galloped away - nary a hair disturbed on their delicate heads.

And then.. the beast rose again. The very same filthy creature - reborn and revitalized, like Jason from Halloween, the knife pulled from it's gut and blood dripping from it's lips. Stronger and more evil than ever. And how so many times, these last eight years, have so many wished the final blow had been delivered when the chance was before us. But we were weak. We moved on.

We now have the chance again. We can drive the stake into the heart of this ugly relentless fascist murdering creature that has menaced our freedom for so many years. This time we can really kill the damn thing, look it in it's cold empty eyes and pull the trigger.

Dennis Kucinich and John Conyers have opened the door to the lair. The weapons are in our hands. The Beast is gurgling and hissing and stinking the stink of near-death. We can and must finish this job. We must reach deep inside and do what we have to do.

Deliver the death blow. Impeach and imprison these bastards. Obama will only gain more strength from the death of this beast. And our Republic simply cannot bear it's rebirth yet again.

Finish it. Show no mercy and finish it now.

 Think the conjuring up of another terrorist event is impossible? Think it would be a hard sell to the American people as a whole to attack Iran however loosely they might be connected depending upon how heinous the terrorist event may be? How about the finger on the nuclear button? How about the paranoia about marshal law? There may certainly be some who recognize that a cornered beast is dangerous and that there will be a new president in January.

It pretty easy for all of us anonymous DUers to get all noble and righteously indignant here. We don't know all there is to be known or all that our representatives may know, so it is easy for us to say full speed ahead and everybody to the Hague. I'm not saying it is necessarily a bad idea, I am saying to consider all the possibilities first. It's easy to sacrifice others for our own ideals. Bush does it all the time.

If we do not kill it, it WILL rise again. We must strike while it's weak. Yes, it may have some final wickedness up it's sleeve, but must face it head on, or we will regret our weakness and fear for many dark years.

But I think Truth2Manufacture accidentally came across a truth that I can actually embrace.  I firmly believe that George Bush will be permanently removed from the office of POTUS as soon as 6 months from now.  After his removal, I believe he will be banned for life from ever attempting to regain that office.  So DUmmies, when Bush retires back to private life, call it a win....it's as close as you will ever get.
