grasswire (42,905 posts) Didn't officials know that "thug" and "criminals" would blow up the problem??I noticed yesterday that those who spoke on behalf of authority had been trained in framing the episode. They continually deflected any mention of Freddie Grey and instead reverted the conversation to the "criminals". This is a propaganda war too, and Lakoff influence was surely heard. But didn't they KNOW that calling them "thugs" would set things off? If they are inciting violence with words, perhaps some are also shooting black men just to start the race war that would profit the Law Enforcement community and its investors.

Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. DUmmies are still claiming this was a protest that turned violent. No it was violence planned and instigated by thugs and criminals.I did not see one single protest sign during all the coverage yesterday. It was a bunch of hoodrats looking for free shit and things to destroy.

On Wednesday night, Comedy Central host Larry Wilmore went to great lengths to promote the idea that calling rioters in Baltimore thugs was just a socially acceptable way of using the “n-word.†The Nightly Show comedian began is commentary by playing several edited clips of different people referring to the Baltimore rioters as thugs, including President Obama, which Wilmore took great offense to. Wilmore bemoaned that Obama’s “changed†and joked that the Obama that would never use the word “thug†was “Choom gang Barack. Choom gang Barack, right? Right? Come on. We know it's true. He would have offered you a hit of his jazz cigarette, and rapped with you about the oppressive police state.†Not to be restrained in his over-the-top commentary, Wilmore eagerly promoted the remarks made by Baltimore City Councilman Carl Stokes who first compared the word thug to the “n-word†during an interview with CNN’s Erin Burnett. Wilmore beamed that “Baltimore Councilman Carl Stokes help me figure out the word I'm searching for. Oh, and please scare a white lady while you’re doing it.†Rather than condemn Stokes’ harsh language, Wilmore proclaimed that “thanks to that clip, Mr. Stokes gets our inaugural “straight up boss of the week†award. That's right. You earned it, Carl.†Later on, Wilmore brought on Nightly Show social commentator Felonious Monk to expand on the topic. Monk argued that if “n-word is heroin, then thug is like oxycontin. You can get the same exhilaration, but you can use it in public†and that those who use the word thug, like President Obama “he who dons the tiny black mustache be not a Nazi, though his visage may conjure the terrible right and so it is, with thug.â€
The left hates it when you call a spade a spade.
