Is there the equivalent of GoFundMe for someone who's looking for a job

rather than cash donations? Sort of a HireMe for professional people?

Weird question, I know, but if there is one thing I know about DU it is that the collective knowledge base here is vast indeed.

Its called, Indeed, Craigslist, Career Builder ETC DUmmie. Find a job on your own instead of asking fellow DUmp morons for help.

That last sentence made me  :rotf:

Emphasis on "collective".
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Not the word I would have chosen.

Liberal thinking is a two-legged stool and magical thinking is one of the legs, the other is a combination of self-loating and misanthropy.  To understand it, you would have to be able to sit on that stool while juggling two elephants, an anvil and a fragmentation grenade, sans pin.

Then again, space is vast (and empty).  DU "the internet's purveyor of misinformation"

The DUmp isn't exactly the place for any sort of sensitive information.
Especially regarding legal or medical concerns.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

Now there is a shock. :whatever:

Post a question where the best place to scam and beg and there would be a dozen plus replies I bet.

On a side note it is best (I know it is a pain to do it as one has to copy the post from the bottom up) to try to get the date and time of the OP for instances like this as it shows just how silent they are and is also useful as a reference later as circumstances arise.  :cheersmate:

Craigslist? I guess that would work, if your qualifications include being a gullible victim.

LinkedIn? Works if your a peddler. To sell stuff. My brother is making a killing using his LinkedIn profile when moving in on a new mark. Didn't know how well he was doing until I helped him move 5000 obsolete Dells (Win95) he bought on eBay to refurb and resell. He had 'em all out the door inside 6 months.

Why not just visit company websites where you think your skills could be of use and use their careers page.
Then there's the old warhorse site "Road Whore" (Goes by a different name, now) where construction and especially nuke skills meets employers with a major dose of usually good advise.

Monster dot com, Dice dot com, recruiters (= headhunters) for many special skills. many temp agencies' jobs have potential to become full-time.

Thing is, you have to have a resume' with actual work experience, be willing to show up and sell yourself at an interview, show you care enough about a prospective employer to learn what they do, show yourself willing and able to learn, respect the work and not think it beneath you, and .......... actually work.

I can think of at least a dozen job search websites where one post's a resume and potential employers are able to find new recruits.. -But that isn't what the DUmmy wants, is it ?

He want's to be able to state something like "I want to be a fireman !" and wait for a nearby fire department to give him a job.

That isn't going to happen. Sorry.

How about turning off the computer, getting off your butt, and going to pound the pavement?!!  That's worked for a really long time.  Dang why do they want EVERYTHING handed to them?

True, but "I want" worked for BHO. Many Libs/Progs - well represented on DU, I'm sure - want entitlement-based hiring ... until it's their neurosurgeon or lawyer or ...

If a DUmmy said, "I want to be a lion tamer", I'd provide the suit made of pork chops.

This is a great point. Didn't Skippy brag about his neurosurgeon being the best in the country, if not the world? In the single payer paradise he seeks, there is no BEST anything. Everything is equal, at the lowest skill level. What incentive does anyone have to try harder?

Oh, you want libs and DUmmies to consider the long term ramifications of their socialist policies.
That's going to be a tall order.
