Vice President Biden

Made the news again when he held the shoulders of the wife of Ash Carter, New Secretary of Defense...and whispered in her ear.

I don't know what channel I had on, but the announcer explained that Mrs. Carter wasn't cooperating by standing still on the stage area during the ceremony, specifically, Carter's acceptance speech. She was flitting around, and Biden was afraid she'd miss the ceremony, so Mr. Biden reined her in and kept his hands on her to keep her from running to and fro again....what he leaned over and whispered in her ear is anybody's guess.

Letterman just did a bit on it, and so have others (he did say he loved Biden) .

No news program has played the tape as it went further on when Ash Carter was being sworn in but I saw it and want to fill in what most of you did not see. While Carter was being sworn in, his wife was now by his side. She looked up at Vice President Biden so lovingly, her eyes full of admiration, and nobody saw that but me. If I thought I was going to put an OP about it, I would have paid more attention to what the men were doing, but I was watching her. She loves Biden. So do I.

3. He's been doing that for years

Each semester at Widener Law, he taught a small 12 student seminar in Constitutional law. The room was set up around a conference table, and he would regularly walk around, put his hands on women's shoulders and bend over to speak with his face next to their heads.

Several women had deep problems with the constant unwanted touching by Biden, but were too intimidated to say or do anything about it, beyond complaining to friends. My wife dropped the class for credit and switched to audit, because it was infuriating and distracting.

I thought the women were exaggerating until I took the course and saw it for myself.

He has engaged in creepy unconsented touching of women for his entire career, and never been called out on it.

I've always voted for him and there's a lot to like about him, but this aspect of his behavior has been deeply disturbing for a very long time.

Personally I think that he likes women. His mother is still alive, his first wife died in a car accident and I think he holds women on a pedestal for those reasons.

Most real creeps don't touch in public; they wait till everyone leaves. Yikes, this was on TV, and the man would have to be daft to exhibit behavior that some might find disturbing. When I was younger the guys with impeccable behavior with others that had me screaming for help when left alone with him/them.

Thank you, but I hope you're wrong about his motives when he acts fatherly....oh, I really really hope you're wrong . ..

Look, I've lived in DE my whole life. I live a couple hundred yards from where his wife died. I spent 3 hours every Saturday with him in a small room for a semester, I used to be on the same train platform every morning in Wilmington... This is a small state.

Regardless of his motives, women were BIG TIME creeped the **** out by his behavior. One of them is now a Delaware Family Court judge who is more than willing to explain the helplessness of having a US Senator do that like clockwork every single Saturday and, yes, get reactions EXACTLY LIKE YOURS, which is why nobody ever did anything about it.

There is not a women who took that class who did not get hot old man breath on their necks.

It was my reaction as well until I saw it with my own two eyes.

Correction: my wife advises me that it was only the "good looking" ones.

should have shut down this behavior long ago. I thought it was pretty awful that there were reports of his not wearing swim trunks in front of his female SS detail--people here excused that as "Oh, he has the right to skinny-dip if he wants!" but it's really an assertion of power over those women. The worst was his nuzzling a young pre-teen girl back in January in a Senate swearing-in ceremony. She looked like she wanted to melt into the floor. Young girls that age are very self-conscious and easily embarrassed to begin with. But no one wants to confront the old creep, everyone just stands by and watches him and smiles uncomfortably. I honestly question if he's right in the head.

Honestly, when I first heard women at Widener complaining about it, I too was of the "Oh, he just an affectionate 'touchy-feely' guy, and doesn't mean anything by it."

And I'm sure that's what most people pass it off as. He'd probably say so himself.

It is a remarkably consistent behavior, though. You can count on it like clockwork.

I sincerely doubt it goes any further than what you see.

I'm only saying that many women were bothered by it. Probably many likewise didn't mind and didn't care.

On the pool thing, he has every right to swim in his pool however he'd like. I don't see a problem there.

A grown woman doesn't know how to conduct herself at a swearing in ceremony, so the VP has to "rein her in".

As far as the story about him skinny-dipping while his female SS detail is around: If I, as a male Soldier, place so much as a Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in plain sight in my office, knowing that female Soldiers will enter it, then I will get absolutely fried for Sexual Harrasment for creating a hostile work environment.
If he skinny-dips with females present, here are the facts:
1) in the Secret Service, being on the POTUS or VPOTUS detail are considered to be plum assignments and being removed from one is considered to be a demotion.
2) Given #1, any female who files a complaint about his behavior will be removed from the detail, effectively being demoted, because they can't fire the VP, a clear instance of punishing the victim.
3) Therefore, no female SS agent will EVER complain about sexual harrassment by POTUS or VPOTUS, despite the fact that the behavior is MUCH worse than anything Clarence Thomas was accused of, and that the left is still vilifying him for.

The man (term used loosely) is a sexual predator and should be removed from office for numerous violations of Federal Law and OPM policy.

He doesn't feel superior to women in intellect or ability, just physically stronger. I think he feels protective toward young pretty women because he knows what some lechers would pull on these gals, and he knows he's not one.

But I've seen him give the biggest hugs to the oldest of the old when he does the signing in of the new Senators - I watched it all 4 years ago and this year. He affection for them seems genuine.

Reminds me of me with dogs. I can't resist bending down on the ground and hugging strange dogs with or without their owners. One would think I wanted to steal them, but I just like them a lot.
