Title: primitives talking to animals, keeping neighbors up on Christmas Eve with racket

This is almost the entire campfire (it's more of a campfire-ette).  I just thought the OP was funny in a sad and pathetic sort of way, as was the primitive who kept their neighborhood up at night pretending to be Crazy Cat Lady Claus:

There's a legend that animals can talk on Xmas eve. Anybody's animal

companions express their thoughts last night?

Mine didn't, despite encouragement.

1. Thank goodness that isn't true. My terrier has seen too much

There's no way he could be allowed to tell what he knows.

4. None of our 5 cats talked, but if...

...they could, I would demand that the one who hid late last night, so well that we thought he had escaped, tell me why he did something so out of character. He never hides. There I was, walking the neighborhood at midnight, calling out to him and shaking a tin of cat treats hoping to get his attention. Imagine my relief when one of our sons called my cell to tell me they had found the stinker in the guest room closet.

It would have been a sleepless night had we not found him.

Well, I'm kind of upset.

None of the three cats here--Ellie, Rusty, and Russ--talked last night, alerting me to that company was coming (I can't hear people coming; I have to see them before I'm aware they're here).

Abbie, Snow, Junior, Apricot, Floyd, Gordon, Harold, George, Leo, Decker, Gustav, and William used to do that for me; they were great watch-dogs.

Okay, so Rusty and Russ are new here--I've got three fully-orange cats--but I thought at least Ellie, who's not new here, would've remembered she's supposed to do it.

The new guys might just require an adjustment period before they start watching "their" turf.  I'm sure they'll all be acting like guard-cats before you know it.

Be thankful that Rusty and Russ didn't find a home with a rare Nebraska primitive.  They'd be like the 3catwoman3's cats, all trying their best to escape whenever possible.

I shudder whenever I think about how primitives treat their pet cats.

Brrrrrrr.  I wouldn't wish that fate on a mad dog.

Along with firearms and credit cards, primitives should also be prohibited by law from owning pets; it's ghastly, how they treat them.

I can verify this statement. If you were to enter their home and witness the sights and smells that I endure you would understand.

DUmbass.

Cats disappear all the time.

My response has always been the same: "He'll show up when he's hungry."

My record of being right is better than 95%.
