Unfortunately Australian gun control didn't make a difference here.

Never miss an opportunity to use a crisis.
In this case they can step up efforts to ban knives.

I can kill you with a non pointed plastic knife.
I can kill you with nothing more sophisticated than a plastic coated playing card.
As a matter of fact, I can kill as many people as I want with a plastic coated playing card 'if' the people are asleep as these children probably were.
I can kill as many people, in a public place as I can catch off guard .. (because I am only carrying playing cards).
I can us a rock, a baseball bat, a pencil, a broken and jagged piece of glass to do the same damage.
I can even kill you with a long winded, leftist speech about gun control!
The point is .. The only thing a blustering, long winded leftist can do is to change the way I can kill you!
Idiots .. Everyone of them!

'She had found God and was trying to turn her life around': Uncle of eight children stabbed to death spoke to their mother a day before the massacre, when she preached about religion
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2880579/The-night-eight-children-tragically-killed-Australia-suspect-Raina-Thaiday-home-neighbours-heard-mother-s-chilling-scream.html
An uncle has revealed the final moment he saw his eight nieces and nephews before they were found stabbed to death at a Cairns home on Friday.
He told Daily Mail Australia the children were in the front yard of the property while he spoke to their 37-year-old mother, who's been arrested for murder, just a day before the tragedy.
She told her brother-in-law that she had 'found God and was changing her life around'.
Police confirmed on Saturday morning the woman is a mother to seven of the children and an aunt of the eighth.
The likely killer is the mother and has identified as Mersane Warria, also known as Raina Thaiday.
