Oh! Hell, yeah!! I just drove a Tesla.

I was walking over to the Post Office to check on something for DUer Raven...

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x3607899 (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x3607899)

when I spotted this cool, cool car in the parking lot behind our Gallery. I couldn't figure out what it was, so I walked over to get a better look and saw that it was a Tesla. Except for photographs, I had never seen one before.

Check it out...

http://www.teslamotors.com (http://www.teslamotors.com)

I felt like a rube, standing there, looking in the windows and all around, over, and under this radical little auto.

Went over to the PO and, naturally, they were closed.

Walking back to the Gallery, I stopped and looked at it just one more time.

And this woman walked out, opened the door, and started to remove these canvas roof panels.

So I just had to ask some questions.

Long story short, I just got back to the Gallery and I am so amped that I can barely type.

I have driven some incredible cars in my time, but nothing remotely approaching this thing.

Felt just like cutting through the air. Except for the speedo and things flying past, there is no sensation of speed. The damned thing sticks to the road like a Formula car.

I am sweating, I am so amped.

11. You only hear the motor when you put it in gear.

A low, growl.

When you punch it, it is like flipping a switch. Instant torque, instant acceleration.

I drove it up to 110 on an extremely winding road.

There is nothing like it. And I have driven some of the fastest production (and limited-production) cars ever made.

I want one, right now.

26. I found that a little weird too - some random woman lets "Tom" drive her car.

And to Tom: did you have sex with her too? Guess not, or you would have told us about that as well for sure. But still, "Tom," you did get some random woman to let you drive her car, so even though there was no sex involved, you get one:

35. It's her family's business.

These cars aren't even in release, yet.

You would have to understand where I live. Tiburon is not just an everyday small town.

And I would have ripped off my clothes at 110mph if she would have asked me, but, als, no such luck.

The woman works for Tesla.

I think she has seen me playing somewhere. I was astounded when she offered to let me drive.

I think the lying titty primitive reads stuff online and then tries to weave it into a stretchy.

http://www.teslamotors.com/blog2/

Notice that the date on this press release from Tesla is 7/12/08. The same day TiT posted his "encounter".

and this

$100,000 for this little honey seems, well, EXPENSIVE!  Give me the little diesel powered Mini and 65 MPG with a three minuite fillup and I'm OK.

You don't understand. TominTib is a superhero who wears a cape, tights, and a "TiT" symbol on his chest.

and he's got the sex appeal of George Clooney, the bank account of Bill Gates and the sexual prowess of a porn star.

I'm surprised she didn't fall over with her legs in the air while begging him to take her and the car for a spin.

I think all he needs to do is walk on the moon and then he has done everything possible for a human to experience.  Then again he may have been on one of the Apollo missions under an assumed name.

he did go to the moon, but he wasn't on the official manifest... he was itemized as "ballast" and stowed away to hold his breath the whole trip... it was all so he could emplace a supersecret radar station on the dark side to guard against the alien invasion... the records are sealed so tight that just me mentioning this has activated a small bomb that the government has had installed in all of your hard drives in order to destroy the evidence.

Thank God he had John Kerry to help him with the mission.

Um, yeah.  Somebody who owns any car, let alone a $100K+ car, lets some random drugged-out alcoholic take them on a 110 MPH joyride.  Sounds just so reasonable.  And the DUmmies lap it up.

What's really funny is some newcomer tries to lash themselves to Tommie's apron strings:

57. Parked nose to nose with a Tesla about a year ago
About a year ago, I parked my car in Redwood City, CA nose to nose with the most beautiful car I had ever seen. Read the name on it and it said "Tesla". Had never heard of it then but since I have. Wish it weren't so expensive

Apparently, kiranon doesn't know that the first production Tesla was delivered in February of this year and they have delivered a grand total of nine so far this year.

So kiranon, as a community service, I offer you the following excuses for trying to out-fib the King of Liars:

1.  It was really foggy, and dark, and rainy and ummmm....visibility was low.  I thought it was a Tesla, but in retrospect it may have been a stray dog.
2.  I'm new to the English language.  The car I saw had letters on it I haven't learned yet.  But I distinctly remember an "F", a "R" and a "D" with at least one vowel in there.  Does that spell Tesla?
3.  OMG, I was sooooo stoned I saw a Tesla.  It was purple and green and hovered a foot above my livingroom floor before it woooshed away into the sky.  Although it's carbon footprint was admirable, I swear it was dropping chemtrails the entire time.

And of course the reality of the situation:

So, you're waiting on the bus to take you to the welfare office.  Somebody had left a newspaper at the bus stop.  You snatched it to use for toilet paper and noticed a column on the Tesla in the Business Section just before you flushed it.

No the stupid DUmmie was so high he mistook a Tesla CD jacket lying on the front dash as the name of the car.

It was probably "RePlugged Live".  Would be appropriate for this car.
