Title: The Nut Doesn't Fall Far From The Tree...

Paulbots like to think that Ron's son is an ever better version...

But sometimes nutty is hard to escape from, and liberalism can set in.

Rand Paul is just another career politician wannabe who panders to whatever audience is in front of him. No more, no less.

A good conservative would know that no amount of pandering to the hard lib base will get one vote from them.

No argument from me. I have problems with Rand Paul going back to his campaign. This article summarizes the BS that is Rand Paul:

I couldn't do very in depth research on National Journal.
Being as I don't believe I have heard of National Journal I did make a cursory attempt to analyze it.
It claims to be non partisan.
So do Time and Newsweek.
Over the years I have found Time and Newsweek to be consistently liberal.
But the cursory analysis I did gave me the impression that the Journal was liberal.
I naturally suspect all who claim to be moderate or non partisan because my experience has led me almost invariably to observe those groups to be liberal.
When I read the article I noticed the author was defensive about owebumacare.
I'm not a fan of Ron.
I thought Rand would be able to get out from his Dad's shadow.
But it looks like that's not going to happen.

In essence, I agree with you -- the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Rand Paul is his father's son, and blood is thicker than media bullshit.

In short, I don't trust Rand Paul for the reasons stated in that article, and a few others. He's an opportunist, he's ambitious (it's that power thing again -- it's not enough being a surgeon and having the power over a person's vision and life in his hands), and ultimately he'll say whatever it takes to get elected.

There aren't many politicians -- especially career politicians -- that I would say I "trusted". Maybe even none. But I distrust Rand Paul more than usual.

Rand is not as crazy as Ron, but he's too crazy for me.

Still, if it came down to it, if it came down to a choice between him and Hitlery, I could at least hold my nose and vote for him, which I can't say about everyone who's been mentioned as a possible Republican candidate.
