What is your favorite way to prepare kale?
Ok guys, give me your favorite kale concoctions!
I just eat mine mixed in with some spinach leaves and poppyseed dressing. Nothing fancy!
Here's mine:
1) Put kale in the trunk
2) Drive to the nearest empty field
3) Take kale out of trunk, trying not to breathe
4) Put kale on the ground and soak with flammable liquid of your choice (gas, kerosene, naptha -- doesn't matter)
5) Light it on fire (stay downwind) sorry -- meant UPWIND! :thatsright:
6) Make sure you put it out.
7) Get back in your car and floor it!!

I guess this means you're not a fan of kale?
As a green, leafy vegetable?

Personally, I'd dispense with Step 6 (it'd burn itself out), but I gave you an H5 anyway!

Similar to the one I learned from my Grandma, except we didn't waste any gas by driving it around town. Didn't waste ant flammable fluids soaking it before lighting it up. And we didn't waste any body energy stomping a fire out. We waited for the rhinoceroses to do that.
Come to think, I wonder if that is why we never saw any rhinoceroses around the farm.

Great minds think alike! Before I opened the thread, I was going to say light it on fire & throw it at a DUmmy!
-
I think kale is pretty to look at when it's growing but it is like chewing tiny slices of bat wing, or what I imagine bat wing to feel like. I prefer broccoli cauliflower beats and the like.
-
I was going to say "feed it to my cows", but I just remembered they won't eat it. :lmao:
-
It makes a good fish wrapper, and a great bird cage liner.

So, kale is like the New York Times?

Well I certainly didn't mean to denigrate the kale with that comparison.

I'm no more likely to eat one than the other, and I don't read the Times.

OK don't make fun of the Vermonter, but on Saturday mornings I go to the local farmer's market. Now mind you in the Midwest or Amish country the farmer's market is probably different but in VT it's all unwashed, unshaved (yes, I'm talking about the womyn) hippies. However, there's one stand that has their own stone oven that they make wood fired pizza in. The stuff is incredible. And yes I think I've had it with kale on it.

Seriously, Mrs. E and I eat kale -- it's better raw than cooked. Slightly sweet and it's really good for you.
We tear up a few leaves and put it in soup. And our parrots eat kale as well -- green leafy veggies are a staple for birds and they get theirs. They eat healthier than we do. :lmao:

Brother, I'm glad you and the birds have something to enjoy together.
I share meat with Velvet. I would never be so cruel as to offer her a piece of kale.
:-)

I've used it for garnish too. It holds up really well underneath a turkey or large roast. Then you put it in the compost pile.
Some of the variegated ones are pretty as an ornamental.

Am I the only one that wouldn't know kale if I saw it?

There are all kinds of varieties of it

In ignorance there is bliss. If something green and leafy isn't in a salad or a recognizable appetizer, I'm not eating it. :panic:

All three of our dogs eat the spiny part of the kale ribs. They love it, especially our golden.
They also eat meat. And you should've seen them destroy a marrow-filled beef bone last night. :whistling:

Clearly a mole mocking the kale-centric DUmmies.

Yes, that stuff, it tastes like swamp.

First you have to get the wrinkles out....lay on sidewalk....run over it with dump truck....if it sticks to the tire throw it away....if it doesn't stick, leave it on the side walk......and eat at McDees.
