I work in the Bronx courts
I process cases where people are arrested for selling cigarettes illegally. Generally they get a violation not a misdemeanor, and maybe a fine and/or community service. Very rarely jail, even with a history of past convictions. This execution by cop is just horrific. My coworkers that I've seen post about it agree. They are blaming the DAs office. Unfortunately in NYS grand jury proceedings are secret. We will probably never know what happened. But we do know the other cops were granted immunity, which in itself is ****ed up, so I have no confidence that the DA presented the case trying to get an indictment.
Sure you work there. :whatever:

What he meant was, "Where I always get tried."

Very true. Drugs or sleeping in a park after a protest.

Hookers consider time in court as part of the job.

Cops don't have absolute immunity. They have qualified immunity.
Without that qualified immunity, many less people would be willing to become cops. It's one of the trade offs we make for living in a civilized society.

A friend of mine had a good idea.....he said every cop in America should announce that they're all taking a day off, say December 15. Let the crooks run wild for a day.

And in all of those cases you mention, I'd hazard a guess that the people arrested were not physically combative with Law Enforcement when the arrest took place.
Unfortunately in NYS grand jury proceedings are secret. We will probably never know what happened.
And I'd say that's probably a good thing, especially in this case otherwise we would be seeing stories about attacks on members of the garner grand jury popping up in the news in the near future.

The DA in the Darren Wilson case released all the evidence. It didn't matter. Morons are still shouting "hands up don't shoot."

The Eric Garner judge is going to release limited testimony. That won't help, but may make things worse.

It was a leftist, Mchael Bloomberg, who passed cigarette laws in New York. Chew on that leftists!

The libs are so omniscient in their proxy as judge, jury and...executioner.
