Lost my job yesterday
The hardest thing is that I worked there for years, from a micro (40-person) to a smallish company (400 person) and most of my friends are there. I'm sure I can get some employment, but maybe not as favorable a situation (distance, wage, whatever). Just trying to keep it together. My other set of friends, arguably virtual, are here at DU.
I wonder why he lost his job. You would think if you stayed with a company from a 40 person to 400 person you might just have some value to yourself.

DUmmy Tab came to our attention for something really stupid a couple of years ago.
Wracking my brain, unsuccessfully.

The diet cola primitive, from over there in New England; the one that was too lazy to fix a Thanksgiving dinner for his wife, even though she had been working that day--also, the diet cola primitive's the one who turns on the oven without checking inside first, to be sure there's nothing already in there, like leftover pizza or a cat or something.
diet soda primitive pans Omaha Steaks; a stretchy (http://conservativecave.com/index.php?topic=8958.15)
This was the most interesting thing I could find. He's another C&B recluse.
Okay, folks, this is a good example of a stretchy, where a primitive stretches things more than the elastic on the subway cat's underpanties.
The diet soda primitive probably complained about every order he ever got from Omaha Steaks.
The diet soda primitive says it's been only one time, but primitives have short-term memories.
And the diet soda primitive doesn't want to admit he's complained many times in hopes of getting some sort of gift-certificate from Omaha Steaks, for good customer relations. The diet soda primitive's gotten a few of these, but because of repetitious complaining, Omaha Steaks finally caught on to his "trick."
franksolich bets this is the real story.

42. Thanks all
I deal with consumer and commercial software and multimedia - many titles you might have used growing up (if under 30) or had your kids use.
Unfortunately I work(ed) for a company that was not in that line of business, and they decided yesterday it wasn't worth having me around.
It does suck. I have some health issues. I'm not a spring chicken any more. I don't particularly want to drive into Boston for work (again) but may have to. Things just get more complicated as they get older.
Thanks to all for your well wishes. If you're looking for a high-end software engineer, drop me a note. Even if not, feel free to drop me a note.

There is always that pee in the cup thing that DUmbasses have difficulty with.
