House Republicans are fast tracking Keystone Pipeline bill.

House Rules Committee meeting today at 5:15 pm ET to move a bill to approve the Keystone pipeline to the floor for a vote tomorrow.
Breaking News site.

NOW they can do some of that legislating stuff they have not bothered to do all this term.

Which they?  The House has had four Keystone bills on Harry's desk for some time. Landrieu's bill is no different than one of the Republican ones.

6. Hmmm, I thought they were declared dead.

If you don't move for six years, what else would you call it?

Are the Kochs going to be sitting in the meeting so they know what to say/do/write on the bill? This makes me physically ill.

And that's a bad thing?

7. There may not be 60 votes. She mentioned "12 other members" (Dems)

in favor. Well, she better have more than that. 45+13 = 58.

Have no fear...Harry won't bring it to the floor without the votes.  The unions have been wanting this bill as much as the Republican's have, and lots of your guys depend on the unions.

9. They want this passed when Democrats have control of the Senate.

We can't blame the Republicans fully then.

Of course, asshole Republicans couldn't get away with it without the support of "our" beloved elected Democrats.

Is that Sarc?

Harry doesn't want this to pass, that would force Obama to make a decision. Harry is only considering bringing this to the floor to help out Mary Landrieu and for no other reason.

Hey, you stupid squat-pisser, don't you remember that the Republicans have only controlled the House for four years?  ...Or did you mean that San Fran Nan is as worthless as any Republican?

Dirty Harry could put her name up in bright lights as the originator of this bill and it would not amount to much for LA voters. She is doomed just like that left wing dummy ex Gov. Blanco of Katrina fame.

It could also be Reid sticking it to Obama before he leaves as Senate leader.  Reid has been mad at Obama for the past few months, and Reid has been carrying water for Obama for six years.

Hmmm. Can the Rats avoid loading the bill up with pork before they send it to the house?
Sending a clean bill to the house seems unusual for them.

I'm sure there are several Keystone bills already passed by the house with minimal pork that Reid has sidelined.  They could be brought up fairly quickly if he really wanted a vote.

O'bama will veto any bill they send.  He's got nothing to lose.

Could be, but I think he's a little trickier than that, he's more likely to reluctantly sign it with a big lecture and then not actually follow it.   He knows that nobody wants an impeachment fight (And since it takes much more than a simple majority to convict in the Senate phase, he'd be safe even if the House did vote it), and that the alternative to impeachment is a lawsuit to enforce the Congressional bill that he could spin out for the rest of his term.

He will eventually veto it. Once it passes Obama will sit on it until after the runoff election in December and then veto it. The runoff is December 6th so figure it will get passed about 9 days before that.

He might do that, unless they can get a super majority.

Last Spring, labor unions threatened Democrats that if they didn't pass Keystone, they would retaliate against them in the fall election.

Maybe that was part of their low turn out.

It hardly matters whether he signs or vetoes.

If he signs, he'll drown the project with environut bureaucrat regulators.

Send an army of PhD kids to carefully dust off every fragment of indian bone! Don't disturb the insects!

This is just a little side battle in the War on Coal, as is his new war on the internet.

Here in red state hell, AT&T just announced cancelling investments in superfast fiber internet due to the muslim's threatened regulatory shackles.

The only wars democrats want to fight are the ones against things normal folks want: fast internet, cheap natural gss, cheap gasoline, cheap electricity, and takehome pay.
