November 20: Transgender Day of Remembrance, with memorials around the world

http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2014/11/12/vigils-to-be-held-across-the-world-next-week-for-transgender-murder-victims/

From the article:

The Transgender Day of Remembrance is held every year on November 20, to mark the huge number of transgender people who still lose their lives to transphobic violence around the world.

It was sparked in 1998 by the San Francisco murder of Rita Hester, whose killer was never found, and has gradually expanded to a global scale.

A day late in the year to commemorate trannies?

     I hereby christen it "Dicksgiving."

I will spare you what the traditional dish might be.

How about a Day of Remembrance for all the little kids in Chicago (and elsewhere) shot to death with stolen handguns?

How about a Day of Remembrance for all the old folks robbed and beaten up by rampaging teenagers?

How about a Day of Remembrance for all the women sexually abused and assaulted by members of a politically-correct ethnic group?

I'm sure their numbers are legion; why should they count for less than other people who can't possibly constitute more than .000000000000789% of the human race?

Cause it's really just a modern day freak show.  You don't pay a nickel to see the weird stuff anymore, and you're supposed to feign compassion while you're really laughing on the inside

Corrected for accuracy.

No matter how much William wanted or pretended to be a woman, he was not and pretending otherwise is a ridiculous farce.

Speaking of trannies, did anyone watch Sons of Anarchy last night?  Walt Coggins, who I used to think was a pretty good actor, had tranny sex with Kim Coates' character.  What a freakshow.  That was the last time I'll watch anything written by that pervert Kurt Sutter.

Sons was good, if not great, for four seasons. The Season 3 ending was maybe the coolest thing I've ever seen on TV. But around season 5, it turned into a freakshow. Last night was wild but I am not moved by it anymore. Sutter is a poor, stupider, tattooed man's Matt Weiner.

Thanks for warning me. I'll keep my finger on the space bar so I can fast forward past that.  :o

I think we just need to get real and admit this is a mental illness. Hell, if a really believed he was a horse or an apple he'd probably be on meds. But as soon as it's a "woman in a man's body" bulls hit scenario,  it's perfectly ok.

Wow, I can't believe that's the same actor who plays Boyd Crowder on Justified!

Damn shame. I liked him in The Shield, too.

I gave up watching "Sons" a few years ago when my DVR shot craps a couple seasons ago & couldn't keep up.  Figured I'd eventually get around to the DVD's or Netflix, now I don't really have to.

I REALLY loved Sons for the first few seasons, then it was like, "Oh yes. This is a motorcycle club in a sleepy NorCal town that has links to the IRA, the Russian mob, drug cartels, and all street gangs. Riiiight. And in this tiny little town, which is always teeming with local and federal officials, dead people are stacked like cordwood but no one ever gets called on it." At some point the show reminded me of listening to a four-year-old tell a story: "And then a man, with a knife, came down from the sky, and then another man, who liked cheese, saw the man, and they had a fight, and then the man who won got up and went over to the mall..."

Good show, but with all those bikes, it was inevitable that they would find a shark to jump.
