Title: Republican Dan Sullivan defeats Mark Begich for Senate seat in Alaska

JUNEAU, Alaska — Republican Dan Sullivan won Alaska's U.S. Senate race, defeating incumbent Democrat Mark Begich.

Sullivan led Begich by about 8,100 votes on Election Night last week, and when state officials counted absentee and questioned ballots Tuesday, the results indicated that Begich could not overcome Sullivan's lead.

That makes it 53-46 with Mary Landrieu's seat up for grabs on December 9th.

.....and then 6 more senate seats in 2016 will make it a super majority and the new republican president can then say, "I won....get over it" and "Democrats are welcome to come along for the ride but they'll have to ride in the back of the bus.".

Yeah--the DSCC has pulled its' ads from Louisiana, so Landrieu is legs!  This has toast! :tongue: :wink:

Can not wait to vote and send her packing. Repubs need to tone down the downright distorted ugly pictures of her on TV though. They are doing a good enough job saddling her up to Obamacare, gun control and her 97% vote for dirty Harry and the Democratic Senate.

They were still "finding" these votes in Alaska earlier today, and they're breaking for Begich but Sullivan is still in the lead and Begich still refuses to concede.

I do think Mary is outta there but she has survived a couple of run-offs in the past, shouldn't take her defeat next month for granted. Alaska is still ruled mostly by the GOP, and Begich's election six years ago was just because they trumped up false charges against Ted Stevens that were dismissed after Begich "won".
