Apparently Reid is not going to get a vote for Lynch's appointment before the end of the term.
Isn't that the bee's knees? Claims he doesn't have enough time. Rachel Maddow just reported this. What purpose does this serve? This just makes me furious.

Pretty typical for enormous waste of space scumbag jerkoff weasel Reid, but you think the DUmmies would ever connect the dots and realize that HE'S the obstructionist?
Um, no.

7. Amazing How Many Times This Has Happened
...we wait hopefully for some clever strategy hidden up Reid's sleeve - and there is NONE!!! Time after time, there is only cowardice and handing power to the Repubs. Is there any easier thing in the universe than to hold hearings for Lynch now, unimpeded, and instead they're walking away from the chance?????WTF!!!!!!!
Maybe Reid is trying to protect his "legacy." If he actually did something, it might wreck his record of doing nothing.
Oh well. He's yours, DUmmies.

Reid is neither clever nor strategic. He's simply a corrupt old bastard that knows the system.

And a thief, too - somehow this humble man became a multimillionaire while in Congress. No one ever asks how.

They actually do have much bigger fish to fry, mainly a series of spending bills that have to be done for continuity of operations until the new Congress can take up longer-term ones, and Obama can always make her the 'Acting AJ' pending Congressional action, even give her a temporary appointment as soon as Congress takes a recess.

Notice how we learned that from you, and not feckless Harry Reid. You have just shown more leadership in one written post than that ham-n-egger has in his whole career.

Of course Reid has something up his sleeve.
He doesn't have enough votes to confirm the AG now - So, if he lets it slide to the next congress, you will all get to blame those wascally wasist wepugs...

14. Reid, et al. need to learn from the NC GOP.
Truly. They wasted no time in slashing and burning when they seized power, and would do everything they could if they knew they were losing power.
Find the f*cking time, Harry.
Obviously, Dummy WorseBeforeBetter (10,185 posts) needs to contact Harry Reids office and tell him in no uncertain terms that He/She/It is an important player on Dummy Underground with 10,185 posts and that if he knows what's good for him, he would fast track this AG nomination pronto. For the good of the Dummy party.

My question is, why is the skidmarked underwear primitive, the drab disconsolate farmwife from eastern Iowa, so concerned about this issue? It's something that's obviously too far over her head for her to understand.

I do believe you're correct. H5.

But I've heard it said that 0loser actually chose, as far as his stupidity can allow, a decent candidate. Fox News heads approved her, for one. I think Reid definitely has the votes, unless the exiting Dems are in such a huff over losing that they won't vote for anyone. I generally don't think that way, because that's DUmmythink (ascribing 3rd grade intent to adults). Still, perhaps it holds water.
Then, of course, McConnell has the opportunity to rubberstamp her, on the logic that she may be the least odious choice, and they can be seen to giving Kimg 0chuckles what he wants so we can move on to the larger fish.
Doesn't matter - Reid is a weasel and it will be fun to watch him shrink even more, like my willie in a cold pool.

Actually he could ram it through, he still has a simple majority of Dems for the lame duck session, the rules he put in place prevent a filibuster on nominations, a fair number of Republicans would vote for her anyway in the absence of any clear reason not to do so, and I can't think of any Dems who would vote against her.
However, he would have to get it through the Judiciary Committee (Where he would also get it through by a majority Dem vote) before bringing it to the floor for the real vote, and the vetting and then docketing and running the necessary confirmation hearings in Judiciary would burn up an awful lot of the lame duck clock despite the opportunity to play the race card against every Republican on the committee...the process would also tie up some key Democrat Senators from other business, since Judiciary is a prized prestige appointment so some of the most important Dem Senate leadership sits on it, including Schumer, Feinstein, and Leahy.

Actually, a reporter recently did ask the question. See the result of his question here:
