If you've never checked out the 'World Population Clock"

you really should! I almost can't believe it...I can see it with my own eyes but it defies understanding!

http://www.census.gov/popclock/

Watching the numbers scroll is like watching the display on your self-serve gas station pump after you've squeezed the handle to the top notch and set the stop.

People are coming into this (finite) world like yeast bubbling up in a small bowl of warm water and sugar!!

I think I should start scoping out where the 'exits' are...just in case.

2. At some point the planet will react to the human race

as the infestation it is. And it isn't gonna be pretty.

3. More than a gas pump, I think of an air pump blowing up a balloon colored like the planet Earth.

Neverending inflation, you know what's going to happen, there is not way of escaping it.

And even on this fine progressive discussion board people deny it, they say we need GMOs to feed us, we need desalination plants to water us, but nobody talks about limiting immigration or penalizing large families, or even educating about these problems.

I didn't have children, but I still fear for the young generations and generations yet unborn.

It's not going to be pretty.

Ebola doesn't work fast enough. Transfers by ingesting infected fluids. Even the Black Death has a hard time getting rolling in this country, with a sizable pool of host ground squirrels and prairie dogs in the West and Southwest. Fleas do the actual transmission.

Now, another flu pandemic like the Spanish Flu in 1918, that would be the ticket for a substantial death rate that may knock the species back a few notches. Death toll needs to be in the 7 or 8 digit realm to do noticeable harm, not the hundreds or thousands that Plague and Ebola produce.

The thing is, if you've got the bubonic plague, ebola, influenza in all of its' forms, and throw in some EDV-68 . . . all at the same time . . . you might get a ripple.  Not to mention AIDS in the mix.

For you?  I agree.  Do us all a favor and off yourself for Gaia.

I thought you Mega MENSA masterminds knew all about population growth, replacement rates and zero growth.  Most of the developed world is at or, slightly BELOW, replacement rate.

It's the brown and yellow people you like today, but will try to exterminate tomorrow, that are raising the world population.  So, people who claim things are "for the children", consider the human race an infestation?   :thatsright:

Heh..... we know exactly what and who you are.   :bird:

Why not watch it, side by side, next to a death clock?  It will make you feel better, trust me.
