Wendy Davis would have won if the Supreme Court had not stepped in to save the GOP
In a rare weekend announcement, a majority of the high court’s justices protected the GOP and rejected an emergency request from the Justice Department and civil rights groups to prohibit Texas from requiring voters to produce certain forms of photo ID to cast ballots. Three justices dissented.
The law was struck down by a federal judge last week, but a federal appeals court had put that ruling on hold.
The judge found that roughly 600,000 voters, many of them black or Latino, could be turned away at the polls because they lack acceptable identification. Early voting in Texas begins Monday.
Wendy Davis would have most likely won if all the voters were allowed to vote.

1. Who says she is not going to win?
its not over yet, and Wendy still has plenty of time to get her message out to undecided voters.

2. 2 weeks to go, down 9 points?
I really, really would like to see her pull off an upset, but I don't think it's going to happen, especially now that the SCOTUS has upheld TX's voting ID law.
Shut up, you dirty Freeper!!

11. nothing personal, but there's no reason to trust you
every poll shows her seriously down, and always outside of the MOE. If you have evidence that the polls are wrong, share it. Everyone here will be happy to hear it!

6. This decision is a great rallying call to all Texans. Greg Abbott sets himself up by appealing
decisions of judges based on removing a citizen's right to vote.
This opportunity could pull out many voters that usually stay at home. We still have early voting (go by after work) for 10 days. Rick Perry narrowly won four years ago. Texans are tired of ReThug policies, especially that the Tea Party Extremism is taking hold of Texas. They have cut public school funding by $6 Billion, with more cuts to come. The Extremist controlled Legislature is to meet again this Jan 2015 - May.

Damn, if only those fictitious 600,000 knew when there was going to be a surprise Gubernatorial election then they may of had time to pick up a free ID. :panic:

This is what the DUmmies are worried about. Mind you, the below info was taken from registered voter lists. Without photo ID, who in the hell knows who is voting or where they came from? Also, a lot of these addresses either didn't exist or were empty lots.
the district of Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, the prominent, outspoken Democratic congresswoman—had 19,596 instances with six or more voters registered at one address.

Sorry DUmmie...Abortion Barbie is going down regardless:
Republican Attorney General Greg Abbott has a double-digit lead over Democrat Wendy Davis in the race to be Texas' first new governor in nearly 14 years. Abbott posts a 51% to 40% lead over Davis, a state senator, in Rasmussen Reports' latest statewide telephone survey of Likely Texas Votes.

RCP has Abbott up by 14.

Sad fact is that she's a fraud and a gold digger and wasn't going to win this race regardless of a Voter ID law.

'Course, the wheelchair ads that she ran against Abbott probably had the effect of pumping up Abbott's numbers, too.

The wheel chair ad itself wasn't the first time she'd been caught making fun of or speaking negatively about his disability.

As far as I know - even the Democrats internal polling has never shown Davis with a lead at any time during this campaign. -I think the primitives are trying to set up a new meme ahead of time.

I get so tired of all their anguish over ID. If you don't have an ID in this day and age, you aren't a responsible and engaged member of society. You're a crazy hermit living in a cave. This would be an uninformed voter.
As for Wendy, I wonder if Texans believe she has a plan to deal with the hordes of illegals coming over, bringing with them God knows what?
-
Sorry DUmmie...Abortion Barbie is going down...
If she had done that in the first place she wouldn't be known as Abortion Barbie.
-
They should have tried to fix the race before they mounted Wendy.

A wise old saying. "A stork may bring the baby but a swallow never will." I am sure someone will ask about African swallows. :-)
-
I simply love how all these activist judges want to wait until a couple of weeks before the election to try to throw out the ID laws. They throw the whole election into chaos and no one knows if they need an ID or not.
While they may think they're being clever or helping their cause, they're not. If you don't like the law, set it up for appeal much earlier and be done with it.
As it stands right now, if you're a Texas voter you WILL show ID when you go to the polls in a couple of weeks, unless you're voting early then you're going to show it at that time.

Davis took her attacks to a new level on Monday by strongly implying Abbott would support an interracial marriage ban, despite the fact that Abbott is married to a Latina. But less than three hours later, Davis again topped herself by forwarding an attack on Abbott about an unlikely issue: dildos.
In an emailed press release, Wendy Davis For Governor passed along an article from progressive magazine The Texas Observer entitled “Greg Abbott: Dildos? Against ‘em. Interracial Marriage? No Comment.†The piece attacks Abbott for his supposed reluctance to say whether he’d defend interracial marriage and his defense of Texas’ ban on the sale of sex toys.

its not over yet, and Wendy still has plenty of time to get her message out to undecided voters.
This message is really going to resonate with the voters.
