have you ever heard of anyone coloring their hair with coffee or tea?
I heard someone mention that the other day as an alternative to henna.
I've never colored my hair, but this sounds kind of cool.

1. Those substances will enhance color but
...unless the hair is exceedingly porous (bleached/damaged) the effect is slight and temporary.

4. If you take a pound of coffee with a quart of hot water, you'll get a fairly nice dye job that...
..will last about 6 weeks. The amount of dye/color is good for about 3 times.
Got the info from one of my friends wife who is allergic to regular hair dye. It looks pretty nice.

5. My grandma used to color her hair with strong tea.
It just looked gray to me, but I was a little kid.

7. You can also use walnut hulls.

9. that's interesting, too
the "after" color is almost as dark as my hair was prior to the gray creeping in. [franksolich: in reference to photographs posted, but not brought here]
I wonder about hazelnut shells. Lots of them here.

10. You could try dyeing a t-shirt with them and see what color you get.
When I look at websites for natural dyes, none of them list hazelnuts. But it would certainly seem like it should work. So.... I don't know.

8. I knew a girl who reminds my of Cher, she was always changing the color of her hair
But she didn't use nothing that you buy at the store. She liked her hair to be real orange. She uses tangerines.

They want to color their hair, and whiten their teeth. There's gotta be a twofer in there somewhere.

Along with the reply, the NightWatcher primitive included a couple of videos by a rock group called The Flaming Lips. You don't suppose that these fellows are gay?

They crack me up on their 'all natural' kicks. Hilarious considering how many of them are living large through chemistry for one ailment, mental condition, etc. When you've got that many chemicals in your body, what's a box of hair dye on top of it? :lmao:

Maybe its because I'm a guy, but.. You know what I think about dying my hair ?
I don't.
I'm 44 years old (as of this post) and I'm pretty much completely gray. So what. It's a genetic gift from dad (RIP) - He referred to it as 'Jersey Blonde' - I still laugh when I think of that little euphemism of his.

I'm almost 70 and have only a little gray. I hope to stay here and pester DUmmies until it's all snow white.

Bull shit, females have been dying their hair for years------ Was told the Native American woman soaked their hair in animal urine. I do not know how they got under a Elk or other big beast to collect the urine but who is to question how or why.

My grandmother used to take PABA. When she finally passed a couple of years short of 100, she had virtually no gray hair to speak of.
I'm told PABA doesn't work for everyone, but it sure did for her.

If you didn't spend all of your money on junky gewgaws and trinkets, you'd have money for proper hair color.

Coloring one's hair with coffee or tea? For DUmmies, I suggest brewing up a fresh pot or tea kettle, then pouring it directly over one's head. The more piping hot the better.

Primitives are all about cutting out the middle man.
I propose they just stick their head in the boiling water, rather than pouring it on their head.

True, that would save time. :lmao:

Unless they are the middleman, then they don't want to be cut out.

I wonder if any of them took the Boiling Water Challenge.
(Boy, that stupid Ice Bucket fad sure died out quickly after a Kentucky fireman was killed doing it. The only dumber thing is all this NFL pink shit as the league tries to suck up to women.}
