Is revolution the only way we can elicit change?
After many discussions, a couple of polls and reading many responses to posts, it seems that the majority believe that to cause any real change we first have to remove money from politics and change personhood to mean only actual people.
However, it also seems that the majority of people believe that these two things cannot be changed while we live in the corpocracy / oligarchy we currently have.
That leads me to the question, is revolution the only way to cause change?
To clarify, I don't mean blood running in the streets. I mean, as Scuba said, "an awaking of the people and a political revolution"

257. A revolution would institute a 100% Libertarian oligarchy. If that's what you want, have at it.
The military is more sympathetic to the right wing and as far as civilians, the right wing are the ones who are armed. Their viewpoints would win out in a revolution as a result.
This talk of revolution by folks on the political left reminds me of Gone with the Wind where all the "Southern Gentlemen" at the party are gloriously championing war against the north and Rhett Butler spoils the mood by reminding them that all the factories and weapons production is in the north and thus the south has no chance at all.
The left would have no chance at all in a revolution here in the US.

Well, you would be fun to shoot, but that's a bonus.
I'm not aware of any conservative who wants a gun fight, per se. We would much prefer that libs would set aside their failed, flawed, and destructive ideology and join those of us who are normal. But as long as they insist on wanting a big gov't, despite a world of history showing again and again how they turn into totalitarian dictatorships, then we will continue to have a problem.
As conservatives, we are more than willing to talk and reason as long as there are desirable results we can see taking place. But there comes a point where we're done talking. And that point grows nearer and nearer everyday. I don't suspect we'll be the one who starts it, but we'll be the ones that finish it.
Even the lesser recognizes it's a losing proposition. What he probably doesn't realize is it's not going to get any better for him and his ilk. Some of them may be hoping they can gradually push the country further and further left and no one will notice. But we're noticing. Not good for them. And like the metaphor of the frog sitting in slowly heated water, we aren't going to wait and be cooked. If bullets need to fly in their direction, so be it.
Don't say you haven't been warned, libs.

I saw ol' Steve the lesser on Cavuto not too long ago with Tracy Byrnes. Steve was agreeing with Ms. Byrnes, it seemed. Smart move, IMO.
Maybe he's coming around. :whistling:

I'd suggest not using interpretive dance, dressing like giant animals, not ordering corporate pizza (surely there were organic vegetarian sandwich shops nearby), crowds not continually texting & taking pictures on their corporate smart phones and leaving the private jets and limos at home would go a long way to improve your credibility. Well, and not pushing socialism as the solution. The vast majority of Americans don't want that. And if you're a Kennedy, don't suggest the answer is changing leadership because you're not willing to give up your jets, limos and money to live simply. Maybe get rid of the energy sucking mansion.
