Hundreds of Colorado students protest history curriculum changes that would promote patriotism

ARVADA, Colo. – Hundreds of students walked out of classrooms around suburban Denver on Tuesday in protest over a conservative-led school board proposal to focus history education on topics that promote citizenship, patriotism and respect for authority, in a show of civil disobedience that the new standards would aim to downplay.
The youth protest in the state's second-largest school district follows a sick-out from teachers that shut down two high schools in the politically and economically diverse area that has become a key political battleground.
Student participants said their demonstration was organized by word of mouth and social media. Many waved American flags and carried signs, including messages that read "There is nothing more patriotic than protest."
Looks like the students have been indoctrinated by their leftist teachers. I say teach the greatness and exceptionalism of America. If they don't like it, than GTFO!

Looks like the students have been indoctrinated by their leftist teachers. I say teach the greatness and exceptionalism of America. If they don't like it, than GTFO!
Public schools are driving patriotism, belief in God and capitalism out of the curriculum. It's only going to get worse with common core.

The Denver area I'm not surprised as it is a solid liberal stronghold and a huge reason why this state remains blue while most of the surrounding counties are solidly conservative.

GOLDEN, Colo. – Students and parents say they will renew protests Friday after a suburban Denver school board refused to back off a proposed review of a U.S. history course with a goal of promoting patriotism and downplaying disorder.
Students and others packed the board's hearing room Thursday night and also watched the meeting on a big screen outside in the parking lot with popcorn. The students turned in two cardboard boxes of an online petition they said was signed by over 40,000 people across the U.S.
Students across a majority of the 17 high schools in Colorado's second-largest school district have left classes in droves over the past few weeks in protest.
