My cousin is having real issues with her employer...

My cousin has been working for a "for profit" group home company.

my cousin has been begging and hoping for a transfer for 2 months before she got hurt. She has been off close to a month with the injury (no dislocation or anything ) just a REALLY BAD strain /pulled shoulder muscle.

my cousin saw the doctor and he has extended her being off an additional 2 weeks and more therapy. She went back to the office as she was instructed to do. The officer person she reported too has always been snotty since my cousin's injury. This time the person said: "oh this won't due. Your light duty work was only suppose to be 30 days. After Friday your done with that. I don't know what we will do but you can only be light duty for 30 days. I will have to talk (the person named the persons who are the top of the company.) and they would have to call my cousin when they "figure something out" (that is if they do call)

But this company is planning on putting my cousin back at that house she got hurt in.

If the company does that after the doctor ( who is pissed they are sending my cousin back to that house) releases her back to full duty.. would that be considered a hostile work environment?

She is seriously wondering if they ever considered transferring her to another house.

Why is it employers in the health care field treat there workers like crap especially when you have people like my wife and cousin who ( I am told by others) Have a way with mentally challenge people.

1. Oh, yeah, it would. She has grounds to sue

based on the recommendation from her doctor. Her employers are playing the "uh-oh, she got hurt, better try to force her to quit before she costs us money" game.

They are trying to force her to quit. That's why the transfer is not forthcoming.

I dislocated a shoulder a few years ago and missed a half day of work over it.
You useless crybabies.

I hurt mine lifting weights about 12 years ago.  Didn't miss any work.  Finally had MRI two years ago because of other issues in that joint, ortho surgeon told me I should have seen him right after it happened - it's too late now to reattach the two torn rotator cuff tendons, muscles have atrophied beyond repair.

Still go to the weight room.

They are useless crybabies.

Lemme guess, this is about his cousin?

I started working just a week out from a torn calf muscle. i could sit, but it was still very painful.

Also there's some inconsistency here. First this one says she was OFF for a month and then the office manager says her light duty is up after 30 days. So which is it dummie, was your cousin off or working light duty? Sounds like the cousin was already off for TWO months since those statements are confliting so one is left to assume they happened separately. I'm also assuming if this was on the up and up it was workman's comp. Something doesn't add up here.

I have had pulled back muscles several times, colds, flu, minor broken bones, pretty good cuts and bruises and worked everyday.....the gravy train doesn't run through my town.....at least not for me.

Well, there was that time when I had, as the doctor said "A major, major heart attack." I was in ICU for 10 days and the doctors didn't want to let me out. They finally said that if I had someone to stay with me around the clock, they would release me. I got my niece to come get me and tell them she was going to look after me. When we got home I thanked her, got in my truck and went to the job my fellows were working on. :lmao:

Then there was my crazy uncle, god I loved him. He had by-pass surgery and after 3 or 4 days they let him out with instructions not to do anything at home, just sit around. When he got home, a nephew was there to greet him. Uncle asked where he was headed with the boat. He said that he was going fishing so uncle told him, "Let me get my stuff, I'm going with you." :lmao:

At least he's talking about someone other than his wife.

Another failed attempt for the disability bandwagon

And another failed bouncy attempt. All he had to do is say "I told my cousin to to tell HR that she is going to sue". That would have completly changed the dynamic.

Like everyone here, I can't stand to laze around just because I was hospitalized for operations, etc.  Thank God these crybabies weren't the majority during the Revolution or we'd be singing Hail Britannia.  And, much worse, had they been prevalent during WWII we'd be doing the goosestep. :hammer:
Just another minor difference between gravy train riding liberals and everyone else with a work ethic, eg., normal people.

I recently had a brief hospital stay (3 days). I had my son bring my work computer, and I worked while at the hospital...

It's pretty apparent they're as ignorant about employment law as they are of everything else connected to the real world.

It's hard to be well versed in employment law when you don't work....

I had to smile at this comment.

My wife had to fire a woman recently. My wife tried to impress on her that she was not doing the work she was hired to do and giving her way too much time to catch on. (my wife is a softy, I've been pushing her to pull the trigger)

After my wife told her she was fired, the woman said; "I didn't like this job anyway". I immediately thought to myself, "Obama voter".  :thatsright:
