4. He'll either get picked up by another team or make the practice squad.
He has talent.

6. Yeah
He survived all the way to the last cut, which is no small feat in itself. I sure hope he gets his shot.

5. The team said there were no issues
...inside or outside the locker room. If true then the Rams are a class organization.
I hope he gets picked up by some other team.

10. I bet Jerry Jones jumps on him...
the Cowboys D can use all the help it can get.
Was he a tight end or wide receiver?

Doctor_R (1,081 posts)Yep. That is what was so horrible it must be hidden.
michael sam cut by the Rams. [View all]
I always thought it would have been hilarious if the PACKERS had drafted him. I guess that's another story though.

Snugs, it's almost like this stuff writes itself, isn't it?
I love the fact Dummies are pretending they watch football. He looked good? Based on what? The three sacks against third stringers that ESPN kept blasting on repeat?

Its a progressive thing. You start out as one, and eventually become the other.

Good one!
I seem to remember, about the time of the draft, that the word was that he wasn't that good. Sure, he may have been a beast in the SEC, but it's college football as opposed to professional football. Even the SEC (which is easily the toughest football conference anywhere in the NCAA) isn't the NFL.
I'd expect him to play in the NFL Europe league next year, but if he clears waivers, he's got the opportunity to sign on with the Rams' practice squad now.
I think NFL Europe in defunct. I guess he can be the first openly gay player in the Arena Football League.
I think the lingerie league is still in business.

that just took a HUGE hit at DE, thanks to idiot Baddell.
Oh, wait a minute, there is!!

St. Louis (AFP) - Michael Sam, who is seeking to become the NFL's first openly gay player, was passed over by 31 teams Sunday just one day after being cut by St. Louis, USA Today reported.
The rookie defensive end cleared waivers and is now free to try and sign with the Rams' practice squad.
Sam was cut by St. Louis on Saturday as the Rams tried to get their roster down to 53 players for the first game of the season.
I think the lingerie league is still in business.
I guess he did not in fact have enough talent to make a roster spot, despite all the media hype.
If he was any good some other team would have claimed him off of waivers.
I wonder what ESPN will write about now that this experiment has run its course.

Sam didn't make the Rams Cheer Leading squad. I'd still guess that some team in need of a CS will grab him for their Cheer Leading squad. To paraphrase the line in Animal House, "We need the dudettes!"

Jerry Jones: Michael Sam ‘Is Not Ready To Go At All’
September 4, 2014 8:30 AM
IRVING, Texas (CBS St. Louis/AP) — Michael Sam waded through a crowd of reporters and was settling in front of yet another bank of cameras when someone asked if this was what it was like in St. Louis.
“The heat?†Sam said, drawing laughter from two dozen or so people surrounding him as he stood in front of a large Dallas Cowboys star on a wall just outside the locker room.
No, the latest version of the circus after the league’s first openly gay player signed to the practice squad of America’s Team. He’s unlikely to get into the opener Sunday against San Francisco and might still face long odds of joining an active roster anytime soon.
But Sam got his second chance to make it in the NFL four days after the Rams released the seventh-round pick when they had to cut the roster to 53 players.
“You guys follow me around like hawks,†Sam said after going through his first late-morning workout with the Cowboys. “I’ve been tired of it since February. I expected it.â€
