The Marin County Sheriff’s Office has just reported that actor Robin Williams is dead. The full press release from the coroner’s office:
On August 11, 2014, at approximately 11:55 am, Marin County Communications received a 9-1-1 telephone call reporting a male adult had been located unconscious and not breathing inside his residence in unincorporated Tiburon, CA. The Sheriff’s Office, as well as the Tiburon Fire Department and Southern Marin Fire Protection District were dispatched to the incident with emergency personnel arriving on scene at 12:00 pm. The male subject, pronounced deceased at 12:02 pm has been identified as Robin McLaurin Williams, a 63 year old resident of unincorporated Tiburon, CA.
... At this time, the Sheriff’s Office Coroner Division suspects the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia, but a comprehensive investigation must be completed before a final determination is made. A forensic examination is currently scheduled for August 12, 2014 with subsequent toxicology testing to be conducted.
Whatever else he was, Robin Williams was a talented comedian/actor. Very sad!

This is sad and shocking... RIP Robin.
-
Just wow
I really hope it wasn't suicide.
RIP and prayers for the family.
Small connection: his then-wife was my modern dance professor in college (us smart guys took modern dance to work out with chicks in leotards).

Hung himself.

Just read an article where he had checked into rehab last month for "continued sobriety"....????
He had also been working on a couple of projects which were to be released sometime this year.

Funny guy. Sad ending.

I've seen reports that he's in four upcoming movies.
Also, he supposedly had 'money troubles.'

This is the Robin Williams I remember. Reading this makes me feel sad and happy at the same time.

More screws loose than an English sports car. I have very mixed feelings about him and his generation of comics, who did so much to legitimize and romanticize the idea of tunneling one's way through a few million dollars worth of coke as a path to professional success, but it sure hogged a ridiculous amount of air time all day yesterday.

A maniacally funny individual that spent his youth perpetuating the "if it feels good, do it" lifestyle only to have it play out to its inevitable conclusion. Any sympathy I have is for Mr Williams family that suffer the pain and confusion for his final act of selfishness.
