Bolt on my $380 office chair broke. Need suggestions.

It popped and almost thew me back-wards! This was the second time this has happened to an office chairs of ours...and that's why we paid so much for this new one 4 or 5 years ago, thinking that a more expensive chair would last longer.

Any idea about repairing it? The bolt broke off in interior mechanism of the back of the chair. I'm afraid to even attempt drilling the remainder of it out but I don't know whom I could possibly take it to to get the thing fixed.

The chair is otherwise in great shape and is the only one I found that doesn't hurt my back.

Only one response thus far, from the primitive with a sensitive bottom, a pal of the big guy in Bellevue's, who's looking for a charity for the homeless operated by atheists:

1. Why are you afraid to drill out the remainder?

Is you did drill it out, would you be able to find a bolt to replace it?

The first thing that I would do is contact the manufacturer. You say it was supposedly a good quality chair and was expensive, so even if they wouldn't do anything for you after this amount of time, it couldn't hurt to try. They at least should know that this is a problem, because maybe they are one of the few companies that would care. You at least may be able to find out if a replacement bolt is available.

I am not all that handy myself, so I can't help further.

How many primitives are obese?

Are there more obese primitives than primitives with mental problems?

Second time this happened, eh ?

- I have a sneaking suspicion that 'somebody' may be slightly larger than the chair's maximum weight limit.

3 possibilities come to mind:

1.  The dummies is fat and the dummie leans way back in the chair. Probably puts its feet on the desk. You just don't break a bolt in the chair through ordinary use.

2. None of the dummie's story is true. The dummie wants the other dummies to know it can afford an expensive chair.

3. The dummie's significant other knows the dummie does scenario number 1 and is trying to kill the dummie by making it look like an accident.

Me personally? I think number 3. If I was the dummie I would be changing the beneficiary on my life insurance policy.

Yes.

The sole purpose of the OP:

"I can afford to pay $380 for a chair, and you can't."

Or, more likely, "My credit card was $380 below my max credit limit, and yours isn't."

Don`t forget the possibility of a workers comp and ultimately permanent disability claim.

I wonder if the DUmmies recognize how embarrassingly unproductive the DUmp is without nadin.

In a week's time, the community they claim to consist of thousands of far left radical fringe democrats will produce less than a half-dozen Grade A and Grade B lunatic threads.

Half of those come from lousy freeper trolls.

Every single week for years, nutcase nadin by herself has delivered at least a half-dozen solid Grade A threads, most of them deteriorating into hilarious, vicious free-for-alls.

I hope Skimmer and his flunky sidekicks realize how essential nadin is to the long term prosperity of the DUmp.

All three of them need to take selfies wearing yarmulkes and text them to nadin, swearing allegiance to Israel and begging for her return.

Now that right there is funny.  Started off my day with a laugh.  H5

Kind of like the old adage: "How an I be broke? I still have checks!"

Solution: Take a class in welding......or an extrasize class and burn off some fat.

Probably the DUmmy intentionally damaged the chair.

That was my first thought. The DUmmie is establishing credibility for hurting themselves at work.

Probably the DUmmy intentionally damaged the chair.

Then hid the broken bolt in the rafters.
