Publix pharmacies are eventually planning to ship everything, and eliminate retail pharmacists
The pharmacist at my local Publix, and his boss, have both verified this.
This is an outrage, and a huge mistake.

1. So I come down with ________ and need medication now, I am just going to have to suffer
Until UPS or Fed Ex can get it to me.

2. yes a complete outrage
I have not been told the timetable. The first step, is for all meds to go to a central Publix warehouse, and be disbursed to the store pharmacies from there.
Then, the outrage is scheduled. The stores will only be for free antibiotics and other free meds.

3. kick because I think this is very important, imho
The pharmacist says, and I have no proof of this, that Walmart plans the same thing.

4. Kaiser is really pushing this too
They even give u a deal on the copay if you have it mailed instead of picking it up from the pharm.

6. My coverage provides a mail order plan for "maintenance" prescriptions.
Meaning meds that are long-term, not for things like an acute illness like flu or pheumonia or such, but drugs that a person would likely be taking for an extended period of time. I have two, my inhaler and my BP medication. If I get 90-day refills of those from the mail order provider, I'm only charged twice the amount of the copay for a 30-day supply. NBD to me. Saves me money as well as the time and gas to go pick them up.
Short-term things, like an antibiotic that would be needed right away for an infection and one wouldn't expect to have to take on a long-term basis, are still payable at the regular copay from a local pharmacy.
<<<am in favor of anything that makes it more difficult for primitives to procure drugs, which are usually paid for by "other people" anyway.

Secretly the DUmmies are thinking/planning, "Now, how can I write my own prescriptions for the good stuff?"

Free? :???:

I vaguely recall several years ago some DUmmy was claiming to have learned confidential General Motors marketing strategy from a salesman at his local dealership.
May have been rsmithnumbers.
Lately, the perpetually-erect stevenumbers has been trying to assume a more entertaining role at the DUmp with threads like this, but he'll never succeed without reviving the tales of his dating embarrassments.
-
By the way, after three hours stevenumbers's petition has three signatures, including his own.

In twenty-four hours he has ten signatures, including his own.
Not exactly viral.
I think he got it to go bacterial.

Like bacteria become resistant to antibiotics, I think it has become resistant to spreading.

More along the lines of 'fatal.'
