Back before Google became big, I was a fan of Lycos. Seems like it's still up and running but I'm not sure how good it is.

Same with me. I quit using Google about a year ago.

they wanted free lunches, cokes, massages. free daycare.

well, they started wanting to take things away that they'd given to employees for free for years... and the employees revolted. apparently, they like all the free stuff. so what did google do? they upped the price of the day care to 30K a year to keep all but the super rich out of it.
