I report 7/28.
This is the third time I've been called since I retired down here in Shell Knob in '92. One was Federal Court in Springfield (not empaneled), and one in Barry County Court (pleaded out before trial).
I was called two other times before retirement, once in Columbus, OH for a rape/burglary/murder trial (guilty), and before that in Kansas City, MO for an attempted murder trial (not guilty).
I must be popular in some quarters. And IMHO, jury duty is the highest duty a citizen can perform.

Trying to get disqualified already, are you? :-) :fuelfire:

I had a week of jury duty 6 years out of 7 or it was 7 years out of 8, can't remember but I pitched a fit somewhere in the middle of that run and they skipped a year. Severed 3 or 4 other times but had some time between being pulled.
Son just turned 19 and he got a summons for jury duty 2 weeks ago. :-)

The last time they called me was for a murder trial with special circumstances. Ugh. It included both a minority race and a gay.
It took them two days to seat the jury and I was one of the last few who didn't get their number called.
Did I miss a bullet or what?

In Louisiana, you can get an exemption due to age. I think it is 65. Hell, the next time, tell the judge you have dementia.

I've never been called, but my wife was once, but never got picked.
My mom received a summons for federal court jury about a year after she passed. There was no number to call or anyway to notify them that she was deceased, so I ignored it. I wonder if they have a warrant out for her?

I got called for jury duty once. I spent a couple of days downtown listening to the stupidest shit imaginable.
Good thing I wasn't picked.

A friend witnessed the best dodge I've ever heard of. When the judge let people come up to plead special circumstances that didn't meet the standard criteria, one gentleman told the judge he was incontinent. Worked like a charm.

My number came up this week. I call on Thursday to find out if anybody pleas or if they go to trial.

Never been called for jury duty. My wife was recently called to jury duty. As an ER nurse we thought she would get dismissed preemptively. But she had to stick out the whole 6 weeks (I think it was).

I got called in '97, but as I was moving the next day or two, I sent 'em a letter telling 'em it would be hard for me to report in Hazel Park, Michigan when I'd be living in the Chicago area.
Got called again 2 years ago. Made the phone call in the morning, they said, yep, c'mon in. I went through the screening process and wasn't called. Maybe my brother being a felon had something to do with it..... :whistling:

Circuit Court call today; Reprieve...temporary.
The trial I was to have been called for jury duty is in continuance until ?. So I'm still in the pool until at least mid-November.
