1. Do you post here just to pimp your blog?

Quote
Nadinb (522 posts)    Sun Jul 20, 2014, 01:23 PM

2. No, and it is not a blog

we cover policy. Like you know budgets, immigration, the Forest Conservation Initiative.

Pride and Comicon are just fun stories. Do you have a problem with fun stories?

It is a news source.

We take different angles than other news organizations in town, like for Pride we decided to give a little history of it. Why? Most people are not aware of how old this parade is, or the fact that the city tried to shoo them away, like Comicon. and both now produce large amounts of revenue for the city.

Oh and by the way, the MINORITY of my posts point to Reporting San Diego.

So my question to you is, would you like to make a comment on the CONTENT of the story? Like how many politicians and candidates for office showed up?

Oh and I forgot, I rarely post the content of Reporting San Diego here, but things like this and Comicon are of general interest. The Forest Conservation Initiative, well that is very much inside baseball in San Diego. I doubt you would find of interest unless you live in Alpine, the Cleveland National Forest or things like that. Why I did not link to it.

I have only posted things that are either fun (culture tag) or of national interest, and not even all of them

4. It's a blog. It isn't a paper no matter how many times you say it is.

You "work" as an unpaid blogger. If I woke up tomorrow and decided that I wanted start calling myself an astronaut, I wouldn't really be one.

Quote
Nadinb (522 posts)    Sun Jul 20, 2014, 02:37 PM

5. It matters little what you think it is

And no I do not work as an unpaid blogger. That is just your imagination. I love it though that you attack independent media. What are you afraid off?

It is telling about YOU, and nothing else. So if you were attempting to get a rise out of me, this does not even register. You understand that?

If I wanted to spam this place, I would be cross posting every story we have posted in the last three months, which alone are over 100. By the way, I now know who you are. You did the same shit over there. The funny thing is, as much as you scream, my fellow journalists do not agree with you. Neither does my bank account.

Oh and just for Pride, there are two more stories to go with it, Ok I will grant you, those are just the galleries. But they are there. So I post one that has the meat of the story, and goes into the history of it, or the fact that the faith community is involved, or that who is who in politics locally (mostly democrats showed up) and you still cannot deal with the actual story. Just try to get me angry.

Cool story bro.

You are really hilarious at this point

By the way, I would love it if you tried to dispute that the city makes millions or that they moved one event to the previous weekend because of how large BOTH have become.

6. I went to the Pride parade last year with my girlfriend, we had fun.

A blog is okay, I don't understand why you are so ashamed of it. As a trained historian, you should have a lot of insight to offer to anyone that happens to click on your blog. A lot of bloggers have become famous and made a career out of it, the same may happen for you if you are lucky.

Nadinb (522 posts)    Sun Jul 20, 2014, 02:46 PM

7. Continue with the personal attacks

I just love them!!!! They are fun and really becoming. Why are you persistent on the personal attacks?

Here... so you can continue

after which a picture of some sort of construction machinery

And we are not calling it a blog because it is not a blog. It a news source. You understand that? It is classified as such. You understand this? News media is moving away from just actual wood pulp and ink... that started oh a decade ago.

Words have meaning.

But please proceed governor.

8. What personal attack?

Is that just your go-to response? When I click on your blog, the web tip says "Welcome to Nadine Abbott's top notch blog". Why does it bother you do much to be referred to as a blogger?

Nadinb (522 posts)    Sun Jul 20, 2014, 02:59 PM

9. It says reporting san diego

in case you have not noticed

http://reportingsandiego.com/

It was upgraded... I still write for the East County Magazine as well, and I get paid, You also call that a blog, which it is not. Why you do that is a mystery to me, but whatever.

As I said, try to understand because the world is changing. And your personal attacks, they are attacks, are like water off a duck's back.

Reporting San Diego is doing things that OTHER media in this town is not doing. Our goal is (apart of the fun stuff, Pride and Comicon are fun stuff, car show is fun stuff, the fair is fun stuff) to concentrate on policy. You get it now? As of June 1st, that is the official starting date, we became an online paper. So no, I am not ashamed of it.

We are trying to provide people (and still learning how to do that) good quality video, good quality stories, and things that nobody does. We in fact started earlier than that, with stories on Energy policy at the border, late May. One of them even found out that the Mexican Congress alerted the US Government on Corrupt Practices by the good folks at Sempra Energy as early as 2009. We even linked to the Official site of the Mexican Congress.

So exactly why should I not be proud of that? And yes, you are engaging in personal attacks, and getting close to a line where you might hurt me, and my work. Be careful with that... the word starts with an S.

For the record, the media classification is an IRS thing, as well as the Franchise Board, and the City of San Diego.

Embrace the blog, stop trying to be something you aren't.

Your definition of a personal attack is bizarre and not based in reality. This is a public discussion forum, deal with it or put me on ignore.

that ain't happening. And I have let free all the people at DU as well.

And I am not going to do what you tell me. I gave you the link. That IS THE LINK. Live with it, don't. I don't give a shit, or two, or three.

Keep digging.

It goes on and on; it's great deal of fun, to read.

I'd comment further, but I've got to go wheel around in my spaceship. If any of y'all call it a car you'll be stepping close to...DUM DUM DUM...the word that starts with an S.

By the way, before I blast off in my Ford...I mean Starship Orion...didn't someone explain the difference between the "S" word and the "L" word to the reporter just a little while back?

We need this thread to incorporate a poll as to whether nadin is a blogger who blogs on her blog. Oh, and make it a proper poll with the proper response(s).

July 17, 2014 (San Diego) We just got started with in depth reporting on the crisis on the southern border. All this takes time. It is the research and the translation required to run the articles in both languages.

Moreover, we were there for both the “Banner” fire and the “Trails” fire, with updates from the field. Those take gas. So we ask you to support independent, in depth, journalism.

Sounds like a blog to me.

A blog (a truncation of the expression web log)[1] is a discussion or informational site published on the World Wide Web and consisting of discrete entries ("posts") typically displayed in reverse chronological order (the most recent post appears first). Until 2009 blogs were usually the work of a single individual[citation needed], occasionally of a small group, and often covered a single subject. More recently "multi-author blogs" (MABs) have developed, with posts written by large numbers of authors and professionally edited. MABs from newspapers, other media outlets, universities, think tanks, advocacy groups and similar institutions account for an increasing quantity of blog traffic. The rise of Twitter and other "microblogging" systems helps integrate MABs and single-author blogs into societal newstreams. Blog can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
