Reminder, how Reagan destroyed the United States
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/02/10/942453/-How-Ronald-Reagan-s-Policies-Destroyed-the-United-States
"It's difficult to overstate how much Reagan-era propaganda hurt the country. It distorted our understanding of how to help low-income people, as well as our optimism they could be helped, and it corroded the social contract that had prevailed since the New Deal."
"Despite his reputation as a tax slasher, Reagan raised taxes three times, and tripled the deficit during his eight years in office. Sadly, his working-class "Reagan Democrat" admirers don’t seem to remember that one of his tax hikes raised payroll taxes, which hurt poor and middle-class Americans and shielded the wealthy.

2. That Happy Horror was the beginning of all that is wrong with us. He's also the first president to
cozy up to the Religious Right and all the evil that brought us. In terms of long term damage, he could actually be worse than Darth Cheney.

4. it also ignored aids and allowed it to grow into an epidemic
also - the failed 'war on drugs' and zero tolerance explored under Reagan.
America's reaction to dead homos and jailed junkies: reelection by the largest margin in history.
Will any president ever again carry 49 states?
The Kenyan in White House would say, "Yeah, but who carried the other eight?"

5. Elizabeth Warren voted for Reagan twice, then for Bush. She endorsed all of this plus the hateful
and murderous apathy toward the AIDS crisis, the anti choice crusading and the whole racist cake walk.
DUmmy Bluenorthwest sounds like a foot soldier in the war on women.
I love this post!!

6. I cried the night he was elected
I was so horrified by him that I stuck my head in the sand, didn't listen to the news for eight years. I couldn't stomach hearing his voice. I still react viscerally - just reading this left me short of breath.
The whole DUmp sounded like this on the night W won reelection.
It was a great night for America.

Homo randysnumber is a delicate little thing.

They really are nonplussed that their messiah was voted the worst US president ever.

Uh, wasn't Ronald Reagan the one who took spending on research for the cause of AIDS from zero to hundreds of millions of dollars? Didn't that spending outpace the growth in spending on research for the causes of other, more prevalent, ailments and afflictions?
And as for the "payroll tax increase" that hurt the lower and middle classes so much, wasn't that the hike in social security taxes, necessary because so many freeloaders were milking the system dry? And besides, I thought primitives were in favor of higher taxes, so what's the beef?

They're only in favor of taxes on decent and civilized people, not themselves.
-
Did I miss something? For once it's not Bush's fault.

President Reagan would likely still be elected in a landslide.
Meanwhile Barry the incompetent will forever duke it out with Jimmuh for the title of biggest failure.

It is amazing to me that an "illness" that was and is 100% lifestyle-decision based has sapped millions of dollars from people who know how to make life decisions.
Reagan was much too kind -- he pushed legislation to support research to help fudge-packers.
The rules are simple: Be monogamous and you will be OK.
But the gay lifestyle is all about many partners as fast as possible.
And so you should reap the rewards of your decisions.

Yes, it did.
This DUmmy is a liar, but that goes without saying.
I just checked the official AIDS website of the US Government (http://aids.gov/hiv-aids-basics/hiv-aids-101/aids-timeline/), and found this:
1981: On June 5, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)* publish a Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR), describing cases of a rare lung infection, Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP), in five young, previously healthy, gay men in Los Angeles. All the men have other unusual infections as well, indicating that their immune systems are not working; two have already died by the time the report is published. This edition of the MMWR marks the first official reporting of what will become known as the AIDS epidemic. *The CDC is part of the Executive Branch, under the command and control of the President of the United States.
1982: On September 24, CDC* uses the term “AIDS†(acquired immune deficiency syndrome) for the first time, and releases the first case definition of AIDS: “a disease at least moderately predictive of a defect in cell-mediated immunity, occurring in a person with no known case for diminished resistance to that disease.†*See previous paragraph.
1983: In May, the U.S. Congress passes the first bill* that includes funding specifically targeted for AIDS research and treatment—$12 million for agencies within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. *President Reagan signed the bill.
1984: On April 23, Margaret Heckler, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services,* announces that Dr. Robert Gallo and his colleagues at the National Cancer Institute have found the cause of AIDS, the retrovirus HTLV-III. She also announces the development of a diagnostic blood test to identify HTLV-III and expresses hope that a vaccine against AIDS will be produced within two years. *The Secretary of HHS reports directly to the President of the United States.
The DUmmies want so badly to be oppressed, they imagine it where it does not exist.

I doubt Jimmeh will lose his crown.
Of course the jug-eared muslim deserves that title, but any historian who calls a spade a spade will be labelled racist.

*thread hijack in progress*
*The CDC is part of the Executive Branch, under the command and control of the President of the United States.
There have been three separate incidents involving highly deadly diseases at CDC labs. They have involved Anthrax, Avian Flu and Small Pox. Two of those have great possibility of being weaponized by terrorists.

1982 to 1992 were the best business years I ever had. '1993 to 2001 wasn't bad.....then I quit...not retired, just quit. :-)

'war on drugs'
That was LIbEral Republican Nixon, boneheads. So much disinformation about Reagan swallowed by the idiots. Reagans' biggest tax increase (written by the (D)Marxists)was a backroom deal with the (D)Marxist Congress to eliminate the Department of Education, which they reneged on immediately and lied (Kennedy) about it.
1982 to 1992 were the best business years I ever had.
Best years I ever had, by far.

I remember why the government raised those taxes on SS and raised the age too. It was because the SS ponzi scheme was going broke. If I remember correctly it was a dem idea. It was also a dem idea to start taxing SS when you receive it... which is the same as lowering benefits.
Reagan actually worked with the dems to get stuff passed. Remember immigration reform? Where is the secure border? Nowhere dummie. Now we got more illegals.
So what is going on now with SS now, Dummie? SS will be broke by the time I retire. So much for that. And what is the dem solution to fix it? Why raise taxes for SS of course!!!!
Been down that road dummie. Don't want to go down it again. If I could have invested every dollar I and the companies I worked for had taken out in SS in the S&P 500 since I started working, I would have well over 2 or 3 million by the time I retire. What am I going to get now? Nothing.
**** off and die dummie.
