Anti-Semitism is fully embraced by the Left. Further, the Left (and especially DU) has sided with terrorists against Israel. --And this is in spite the fact that Hamas has always targeted civilians.
Case in point: the 2009 invasion of Gaza. Thousands of rockets fell upon Israel. So the IDF began a very public massing of tanks outside the gates of Gaza. Here was a legitimate military target within range...Yet Hamas chose to continue shelling civilian targets. The safest place in Israel was in the Gaza invasion force.
I've lurked at DU and the Discusionist, and the hate for Israel is at the same level as Stormfront.
At Discusionist (where conservatives are allowed), I cannot get liberals to endorse terror (as much as they would like to), but neither can I get them to condemn it. In liberal safe havens, they are free to be far more open about their support of terror.
The left is not turning a blind eye to terror...No. They seem to be studying it. Cheering it on. The Left sees themselves as Palestinains against a superior foe. I think the Left wants to use terror and murder just as much as the muslim ba$tards do.
Israel is hated not just for all the standard bigots reasons, but now because she has withstood the onslaught of terror and even prospered. This is why liberals want Iran to get the bomb. Libs hate Israel so much as to dream genocidal dreams-and that reveals a lot about the soul of a liberal.

This is an example of one little exchange I had. It ended quickly because he didn't have a gang of libs to back him up. But the Liberal logic here is. Israel shouldn't defend herself because not enough Jews have died.

Terrorist shooting military missiles at civilian targets is fine with liberals. After all only Jews die.

I agree with you. The DUmmies and their Leftist masters are aching to set up gallows in the town square, and to enforce their collectivist utopia with fear and blood. Our blood.

Because a Joooo wrote the "Communist Messy-festered-toe" and not a DUmmie.....plus the Jooooos didn't hurry up and present the DUmmies with all the wonderful free stuff that the "Messy-festered-toe" promised.
But the biggest reason probably is because the Jooooos fight the people that want to kill everyone that doesn't think like they do.

I'm split two ways on the, "Why antisemitism?" question. Modern Libs/Progs seem to view the world through an oppressors vs. oppressed lens. If some one is successful (themselves excluded, of course), they are, ipso facto, oppressors. "The Jews" - whether business owners or Israel - are successful, which means they are oppressors to be condemned and taken out (sometimes up to and including killing them).
OTOH, there is, in the West, a deep-rooted antisemitism that seems to pop up, hold fashion/sway, get suppressed for a time, only to pop up again. Hitler, of the first half of the 20th Century may be the most recent and best know paroxysm, but as he was dying Stain was planning and about to set in motion an anti-Jewish purge. There were pogroms in Russia in the late 19th Century, and of course the infamous Dreyfus Affair in late 19th Century France. It pretty much goes back to Roman times and earlier (e.g. Antiochus Epiphanes and Hanukkah, the origins of the Jewish holiday Purim). The shock of the Holocaust drove antisemitism into the shadows for a few decades, but, to borrow from Moses, a generation has arisen that doesn't know the Holocaust (i.e. didn't live through that time and didn't experience the horror of its discovery).
In modern Libs/Progs who are antisemitic (whether or not they consider themselves to be such) the two strains are not mutually exclusive.

One more thing--which side absolutely messes their pants when near a gun? And which side not only owns most of 'em in the USA, but has the training and the will to use them in self-defense?

While I do agree with the thought that part of the hatred is due to Israel's prosperity, I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that Israel is mentioned in the Bible as being the home to God's chosen people (the Jews). Most of DU and the left hates God and anything or one associated with God as much (and maybe more) as they hate America.

The thing that always gets me is the Jewish folk support the dems in large numbers. Mighty stupid if you ask me. I guess it will take something really drastic to happen to them before they wake up. Might not be long if obumbles gets his way.

Those are cultural Jews. I think they claim to be "Reform Jews." They vote overwhelmingly for Democrats.
Orthodox Jews and Conservative Jews vote strongly Republican, since the know a Republican President will protect Israel.
