We even found a nice gluten free bread for hubby. He is allergic to wheat and we have searched high and low for a decent bread to use. We finally found a great bread.

we're at least a month away I think.
Everything was slow this year between the terrible winter and cool, wet spring nothing got planted on time.

5. Do you stuff tomatoes?
My family scooped out the tomatoes and mixed it with celery and not sure what else, just remember it was delicious using homegrown Indiana garden tomatoes.

8. I remember my grandmother
Using tuna, mayo, celery, hard boiled eggs, and the gooey stuff (seeds & stuff) in them.
But the best part is still the vine-ripened, fresh from the garden, REAL tomato. Not one of those picked-while-green, shipped halfway across the country, gassed to redness, tasteless abominations from the grocery store. Talk about vegetable hate crimes...

I didn't know you could eat tomatoes if you had gut rot.
edit: I just checked health.com. Tomatoes are a no-no if you have crohn's which is what I thought she claimed to have.

I'm getting behind on my tomato eating so I guess it's time to start canning them.

Why is every DUmbass either allergic to or chronically sick with some obscure ailment?
Oh yeah, because with every word from their mouths they lie.
-
.....if you have crohn's which is what I thought she claimed to have.
Pammy lied.
Again.
-
Why is every DUmbass either allergic to or chronically sick with some obscure ailment?
Because it makes them feel "special," having some unknown or fanciful ailment.
Decent and civilized people make themselves feel special by doing impressive things, by accomplishing awesome deeds, but that's too much work for the primitives.

Years ago there was a food bar at the mall that served stuffed tomatoes served with chips and a pickle for $1.50 a plate.
Stuffing could be just about any kind of chopped salad but my favorite was the bacon potato salad.
When the place closed down I found myself meeting a former cook at the place and they gave me the recipe.
So simple and easy, go to the deli section of your supermarket. buy made salad, ham, tuna chicken etc there. Next take BIG tomatoes home grown if possible, core them , set the insides aside. Mix into the tomato seeds and pulp a few spoon full of mayo and coat the tomato shells , add cooked bacon cover and chill everything for an hour.
Come time to eat remove all from the fredg. mix the salad, and add to the shells. Top with sliced radishes and black pepper or scallions.
When we had Friday pot luck at work I would buy a dozen or so tomatoes and stuff them then head for the lady that made the best stuffed eggs I have ever eaten, she raised her own chickens and would not give out her family's recipe.
This was in TENN. so somewhere in then she had some kind of seasoning or hot sauce. I wonder now years later if she used Lowry's season salt ?? I have never been in a black cooks kitchen when there was not a half full bottle of that stuff used in most everything.

We haven't gotten any ripe tomatoes yet, but every year we have to can at the end of the season. I stew them, then use them during the year in spaghetti sauce etc.

A tomato and onion sandwich sounds vile. Also, not filling.
-
Just did my first canner load of tomatoes for the season. I'm sure there will be many more

With any luck, she'll develop diverticulitis there.
