President Barack Obama’s approval rating is higher among Muslims than any other religious group, a new poll says.
According to a Gallup poll released Friday that tracked responses for the first six months of 2014, 72 percent of Muslims said they approve of the president, compared with just 20 percent who disapprove.
Mormons were the least approving religious group, with 18 percent of Mormons approving and 78 percent disapproving of the president. Mormons in the past have ranked as the most conservative major religious group in the U.S.
The survey underscores a religious divide when it comes to presidential approval — Obama is more popular among non-Christians and less popular among Christians.
Those who classify as “Other non-Christian†gave the president a 59 percent approval rating, while Jewish Americans gave Obama a 55 percent approval rating and atheists or those who subscribe to no religion have a 54 percent approval rating.

Of course he's going to be more popular among Muslims--he's not exactly pro-Israel . . .

while Jewish Americans gave Obama a 55 percent approval rating
I might have to rethink my thoughts on Jooooooos as a whole being smart people.

I have never understood the Jewish support for obama or democrats in general.

Well that really doesn't help my trust issues with Muslims :rotf:

Well it's nice to see American Jews are finally coming to their senses. 80% voted for Obama in 2008 and 70% in 2012. Now only 55% approve of the president. That figure will probably be down to 40% before he's finally out of the picture.

About 2/3 of American Jews are a whole lot more in love with being social liberals than they are with being Jews.

Very true. There's a large segment of American Jews who don't identify themselves as Jewish on census forms nor on any other pigeon-holing form that asks for religious/ethnic identity. That doesn't make them any less left than religious Jews however.

A former commander of mine is Jewish. And he is decidedly an Obamaite. DAT's correct. While I wouldn't call this guy a fervent, yarmulke-wearing Jew and he's probably dug into a rasher or two of bacon here and there, he's more in love with the social liberal meme. Smart guy in many respects, but with Barry, he's a complete lughead.

I wonder what the approval rating among the Jewish people would be today, with the president's op-ed piece supporting Hamas in their bombing campaign against Israel.

Well, American Jews seem on the whole to be a lot more disconnected from Israel than they once were, becoming more like Irish-Americans and their bonds to the politics and conflicts of Ireland. They still care about it, and have a place for it in their hearts, but it's no longer the immediate, deep, emotional lightning rod to them that it once was. Some who are now becoming grandparents were just being born at the time of the last all-out Arab-Israeli War.
Kind of a natural process, I guess, as living memory of the Holocaust and the related events - from immigration here to the founding of Israel itself - in the late 40s dies out among them, and becomes a distant problem compared to their own immersion in modern US social issues.

Sadly, it seems that Israel gets more support from Christians in the Us than from American Jews.

Anti-Zionist sentiment and anti-Zionist forums are telling. Their membership is composed largely of American academics venting their hatred of Israel and of Jews in general. These aren't Stormfront wackos though, they're Jews themselves. That's no secret to Israel. They've been saying for years that the most virulent anti-Semites in the non-Muslim world are tenured American Jews.
American Christians have long been some of the most altruistic people on earth. It shouldn't surprise anyone that they spend tens of millions every year not only on programs for indigent Israeli children, but on Arab children as well.

72% of Muslims approve of Obama. I suspect most of them are Black Muslims.

True insanity as all Jews have a duel citizenship to both Israel and their country of birth. First comes loyal to God and then country.

I caught a Nation of Islam religious service on C-Span years ago. Their "mosque" didn't consist of a bare floor with prayer mats. It looked just like any Christian church in America. It had pews, not prayer mats. Just substitute "Allah" anywhere you'd hear "Jesus" in any fundamental Baptist sermon, and that was their message. There was lots of standing, clapping of hands, swaying back and forth, and singing, lots of singing. They're not Muslims. They don't know what they are, but they're not Muslims.
