There’s little doubt that the Supreme Court would uphold the Congress. It certainly did in 1821, when a miscreant named John Anderson tried to bribe Congress. He was held in contempt, and the House ordered the sergeant at arms to arrest him. When the case got to the Supreme Court, it sided with the sergeant, an officer named Thomas Dunn.
Proclaimed the Court: “The power to institute a prosecution must be dependent upon the power to punish.†In the 1930s, an ex-assistant commerce secretary, William MacCracken, was seized by the Senate for withholding evidence. The arrest was sustained by the Supreme Court in 1935, in a ruling written by Justice Louis Brandeis.

Lernermas? This one might actually ...
... happen!

Really? What happens next?

Lernermas? This one might actually ...

:hi5: for the Lernermas reference, sir!
That may just be worth burning a mole, to drag that over to the DUmp and rub it like rock salt into Wee Will Pitt's wounds. :fuelfire:

Maybe after she's been frog-marched, in handcuffs, out to a police car ...

Yes, and the IRS dung pile just gets deeper and deeper. The figures involving fraud, graft, and stupidity that came out in hearings are so staggering as to be almost unbelievable. $100 billion every year since Obama has been president.

Where's the warrant for King Putt's Minister of Selective Justice?
All he got was a strongly worded letter for his Contempt of Congress.

This is all great, and Ms. Lerner is certainly well and truly deserving of a perp walk, but:
a) I'll believe it when I see her modeling stainless steel bracelets; and
b) this more than ever makes me want to see King O'DUmbass - and Moo-chelle Antoinette - in the cell next to Lerner's.

Indeed! This is the filing of the resolution, not the voting on it, the passing it, or the carrying it out.
I know a couple of waterfront "resorts" on San Francisco Bay she could stay at!

Let the games began. Should be interesting to see if anything really happens.

Let's make it a veritable row of cells -- Holder gets his own bracelets and his own 6x9 digs, complete with honey pot.

Folks I hate to be a wet blanket on this...but given how Obama has asserted Executive Privilege over Fast and Furious emails and communications to save himself...what makes you think he won't do this or something similar with the Lois Lerner kerfuffle?

Can he assert executive privilege over something which - theoretically - has been destroyed and no longer exists?

With the 2014 mid-terms coming, and the 2016 Presidential election, I kind of hope BHO tries this! Let all the D Congress Critters explain their support for the criminal cover-ups! Let the D Presidential candidates explain how they will find ethical people in the D Party! :cheersmate:

I don't see this happening before the election... if ever.
After congress gets back from their August break, everything will be about turning the Senate red.

He will certainly try.
The minute it breaks that they've been found on a server somewhere or that data has been recovered from one of the destroyed hard drives...he'll do it so fast it'll make the country's collective head spin.
Wouldn't surprise me if the paperwork is already drafted just waiting for a signature and date.

Asserting EP over criminal acts is itself an impeachable offence. Besides, don't you think he'd be willing to throw another underling under the bus?

I just read on wiki that Lois Learner's husband worked as an attorney in the Office of the Chief Counsel of the IRS. I wonder what he knows about all this.

Probably enough to get him an adjoining cell with hers...

^^^This.
At all costs, Barry must maintain plausible deniability. He will not use EP or any form of it to rescue anybody from anything, except at the end of his presidency. He, like Slick Willie, will release all manner of criminals in the prescribed way. :whatever:
