Title: What's with all the Nader-2000 threads?
Post by: SSG Snuggle Bunny on July 03, 2014, 10:18:16 AM
I understand that the Proglodytes will always pretend Bush stole the 2000 election but what I can't understand is why it is such a hot topic still in 2014. What spurred this sudden resurgence in re-arguing the 2000 election?

My theory is: They are so acutely aware that the wheels are finally coming off the Obama short bus but are in such deep denial it could be Obama's fault that they need to delve back into ancient political history to explain the contemporary failures of Obama. It has to be the cons on the SCOTUS and they're only there because Bush was president and we all know Bush stole the election BUT (the debate goes) could Bush have stolen the election by such narrow margins if Nader had never been there to suck-up Algore's oxygen?

Are they truly this desperate for an excuse that they would resurrect this decade and a half dead horse and re-commence flogging it with violent passion?

As a profile of an adversary's psychology, these "people" are of such fragile psyches that they are more of a hindrance to themselves than anyone else.

Certainly they erode our liberties, destroy what is good and steal with amoral abandon but at the end of the day people who choose to lie to themselves more than they lie to us cannot succeed in any long term endeavor.

If they reject truth and seek solace in lies they will be the sad little Austrian corporal moving non-existent units around on a map deep inside his last refuge.

The only thing we need to do is press the fight.

What any sore loser still arguing the 2000 Presidential Election results fails to remember is that if Gore had simply won his home state, Florida would have never been an issue.

The only thing we need to do is press the fight.

With ever increasing fervor and pressure.

Roberts and Alito.

They blame Nadar for making it close so President Bush (who btw DUmbasses is considered a better President then Obozo) could "steal" it from Gore.
No President Bush...no SCOTUS appointments by him.

If Nader runs again, will he use a Corvair van as his campaign bus?

Hell, SSB, these same idiots re-hash the Ray-Gun years claiming it was the WORST economy EVAH!

They simply cannot accept history as it really was. It must be re-done in their version of it, and every single time............it's wrong.

Ahh - I found the current Nader issue -  the originating C&L post is from April, seems DU finally caught on.. The best part is Nader wants 'progressives' to join the Libertarians.

Ralph Nader: Obama should be impeached

I missed this the first time around:

When it comes to the current president, Nader said that Obama has violated the Constitution on several occasions and should be impeached.

“Oh, most definitely,” Nader said when asked if Congress should bring forward articles of impeachment against Obama. “The reason why Congress doesn’t want to do it is because it’s abdicated its own responsibility under the Constitution.”

Anti-Nader sentiment runs very deep at DU. I remember that even Skinner told them to stop with all the Nader bashing in 2004.

I posted that and it did not cause a huge firestorm as I expected.

The lug nuts on Nader's Corvair aren't screwed on too tightly.

Progressives: Collectivist, authoritarian, statist, fascists.
Libertarians: Free market individualists.

Progressives: "The people serve the government."
Libertarians: "Government serves the citizen."

There can be no common cause between the Proglodytes and liberty-loving Americans.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.
