The hatred for immigrants in America is sickening.
Okay, so I'm about to go on another rant. Warning: A large amount of text is incoming.
Let me preempt you. You are mad at conservatives because they dislike the flood of illegal aliens pouring across the border.
Our Country, it seems to me, is becoming increasingly uncharitable.
The immigration problems we currently face have nothing to do with charity.
I love my son. I imagined how I would feel if, for whatever reason, he had had to flee to another Country.
But he doesn't have to because this is the US of A and a goal of all other peoples.
That is why immigrants are coming here, even children who are sneeringly rejected by so called Christian Americans.
Legal immigration is not the problem. It is the thousands of illegals coming into this country people have a problem with.
Please understand - this is not a criticism of Christianity itself, but of false Christians. For to be Christian means to be Christ like, or to at least strive to be.
I'm an agnostic, so I'm not terribly crazy about religion, or about the bible, but I did read it.
AND didn't understand it.
Perhaps we should consider the inscription on the statue of liberty. I quote, ""Give me your tired, your poor/Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free""
For legal immigration.
What have we come to, when, instead of opening our arms and our hearts, we attempt to slam shut the gates and point guns in the faces of people seeking hope, shelter, freedom and prosperity?
Legal Immigration.
If we are to ship out all illegal immigrants and refugees, and their descendants, I imagine there's ships that should be loaded with congress members, tea party republicans and armed, fanatical militia men currently trying to police the border.
:rotf: Sure. sure... My ancestors came to this country legally, through the system. One set of brothers in 1756 from England. The other side of the family in 1946 from the Ukraine.
There is enough here for all of us. If people are just willing to share, to open their minds and their hearts. We came to this land as pilgrims, as outlaws, as soldiers, as people searching for something better. We found it.
WE came her legally and have been a benifit to this society- for the most part. These modern illegals? Here to suck at the tits of American until they are dry.

Some of the things my family members say at family events are astonishing. Man, these people are brainwashed. I tried to tell my Grandpa to turn off Fox news and that it is polluting his mind, but he will not listen. What is scary is my grandpa is not a dumb man. He is in fact very intelligent.
They cannot stand that this country is turning more diverse. They are so scared that they/I are heading toward becoming the minority race.
Also, their religion is BS. They do not treat people the way the "bible" says you should treat them. You are suppose to care about the poor and less fortunate.
It could be your Grandfather is a lot smarter than you.

It amazes me how many at DU are so anti-immigrant. And as one moves further to the right of the political spectrum it only gets worse.
Barry has already shown us he has not respect for the law. It is par for the course for leftists not to give a shit about the country or it's founding laws. They only care about fundamentally changing this nation.

Then they would have to face the question, "How many black men are actually looking for work? ....or will take and hold a job?"
Illegals are here to do the jobs Americans don't have to do because of democrat freebies......and with the help of democrats, the illegals are learning to game the system and private charities. The democrat party voting base just gets larger and the American dream keeps getting smaller and harder to have.

No one that I know hates legal immigrants, except you DUmmies. How many rants against H1 visas have we seen at the DUmp?
I don't hate the illegal immigrants either, well, at least not most of them. I do hate what they are doing to our economy, though.
However, I do think shooting these should be legal.

Remember when they all threatened if Bush got re-elected in 2004 they were going to leave the U.S. Canada's immediate response was "sure you're welcome in Canada, as long as you've got a job lined up and assets of $100,000" Shut the DUmmies up real quick.

You'd hate H1Bs if you worked in IT - those people are NOT worth the trouble, they can barely speak and understand English and have cultural issues. They are keeping the American IT wages down, so the CiC is all for them.

Such Hispanic would claim to have immigrated from Mexico City, legally, having waited their turn in the green card lottery. She or he would be all for LEGAL immigration, but angry that others are jumping the line and getting more help from the government than legal immigrants are allowed.

Okay, now we are getting somewhere. But let's drill down a bit more.
Let's evaluate Mexico city for it's believability, but also it's ability to stir the nest more than some other mexican city.
And what about leaving Mexico alone and going with OTM ?
Other than mexican but still hispanic. I really like the green card lottery angle. Libs think that all life revolves around some lottery or another.
I'm not sure about the jumping the line imagery, because libs have no respect for lines.
They imagine themselves to be too good to stand in some plebeian line somewhere.
But I do like the imagery of jumping. It has the air of vague racism. I would like to work the jumping bean image in without being too over the top. Maybe I was a hispanic track star in the high jump and the pole vault ?
And last but not least I want to wring out this concept of fairness, you know, be totally in character yet making the libs squirm about all their hangups with their concept of fairness.

Or you could go with being a legal immigrant that started your own business and love to hire illegals because they work harder than homegrown Americans and you don't have to pay them as much because you pay them under the table due to the insane labor laws.

How about a Venezuelan businessman trying who immigrated after his business was taken over by the government? Of course, you did everything legally, which means it took you several years to bribe the right people in government to procure a visa. During the time between losing your business and getting your visa, you were reduced to living in the slums with no running water, sewage in the streets, etc etc etc.

Precisely! My paternal grandparents came here ]b]legally[/b]! They produced, literally, being farmers. Despite having been investigated by the Feds during WW1 (guess what their nationality was!), they helped feed people in their community during the Great Depression (as many farmers did). And sent one of their sons to fight the Germans (remember what I said about their nationality?) in North Africa and Italy (their other two sons were 4-F, a status reviewed multiple times due to envious neighbors, so they "only" helped feed our fighters in WW2).
The same is true of the many Central and South American and Asian immigrants with whom I've worked here in Silicon Valley. They came here legally and they create/produce.
I have zero problems with immigrants who come here legally and create/produce. But that's a distinction too many Libs & Progs will not see. As the ray Stevens song goes, "There is none so blind as he who will not see." (FWIW, it seems that sayings along these lines trace back to the mid 16th Century)

He pays 4 times a living wage to start plus full benefits and is extremely generous with sick leave, vacation time and full pay at early retirement......but you have to have a degree in engineering, math, chemistry or physics....with good credit and a paid off student loan.
