Condoleeza Rice just spoke at Norwich University. This is a letter to the editor in our local rag. Pretty funny stuff. Kinda disappointed that he didn't get a MIHOP/LIHOP mention in there.
Why was Rice invited?
The president and graduate dean of Norwich University, cloistered in their military bailiwick, must be totally out of touch with the broader community of Vermont in which they live. As someone who used to teach history at Norwich, I would have thought better of their intelligence, good sense, and morality. ........

.....As I said from the floor before being grabbed and taken out, Condoleezza Rice and the whole rest of that bunch belong in jail. They should be turned over to the International Criminal Court in the Hague. If the Obama administration is too chicken to prosecute them, I hope international authorities will do it. In the meantime, Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice and all the rest should have truth spoken to their faces. We cannot be “good Germans†and allow them to get away with the horrible actions they committed.....
Yeah, either a primitive or one of the pink underwear wimmen.

Which primitives live near that area?

Newspaper covers Barre and Montpelier, Vermont.
I don't think on the lilliputian scale of Vermont, that's anywhere near the Madwoman of Hardwick, although on the scale of Nebraska or Missouri, it'd be just a few minutes' country stroll.
There's the vindictive primitive, the "Vinca" primitive, and I dunno where in Vermont she lives, but that doesn't sound like her.
Which leaves the "garybeck" primitive, the one with the solar-powered yellow bus, but his "cause" is the late red round one and voting "reform," so it's probably not him either.
<<<knows only three primitives from Vermont, but there's probably hundreds.

He claims to have taught history at Norwich in the past. For those of you who don't know, Norwich is a fairly well respected military academy. They have regular students, but a lot of cadets. I'm sure the cadets that he taught history to were thrilled with his class. He lives in Marshfield which is pretty much a hippie haven about 20 miles outside of Montpelier. I plan on writing a reply and see if the paper publishes it. It's pretty much a left wing rag, so sometimes they're not all that "Fair and Balanced" on the editorial page. I thought I might bring up Bush Derangement Syndrome and MIHOP.

Why could Norwich not have invited an astute critic of the American empire like a Noam Chomsky or a Glen Greenwald? Those are the kind of speakers that those going into our military need to hear from, so that they will not be tricked into going off to fight and die for corporate profits in some foreign land.
How about we let our cadets hear from none of the abve. Condaleeza Rice was the National Security Advisor to a President. She has more insights into what the future leaders of our nation need to know instead of a worthless a$% like Chomsky and I don't even know who Greenwald is. Both of whom have no experience at the national level in politics. This Oxygen-thief claims he taught at Norwich. I seriously doubt it, but its obvious why he USED to teach at Norwich. :bigbird:
ETA changed Gutfield to Greenwald

I think you meant Greenwald? I don't know a Gutfield, but Greg Gutfeld is on Fox News, and he hates liberals.

Oops! My bad. Its been a long day :banghead:

Just e-mail in this reply. I wanted to mock him even more(forgot to mention MIHOP) but they protect the liberals pretty carefully in this area. They might not even publish this. They're pretty much allowed to say what ever they want and not be challenged. Hmm. kinda like DU Well here's my response.
"I would like to respond to the June 24th letter regarding Condoleeza Rice speaking at Norwich University. First, it is rather bold of the writer to assume he speaks for all Vermonters. With a little research I discovered that 8 disrupters were removed from the event. Probably 10 times that number gave her a standing ovation. How big was the event 200, 400 or more? 8 protestors pfft!
While teaching at Norwich , one might have thought he would've noticed a lot of his students were in uniform. I think it is very likely that future officers in our military would be interested in hearing from a former National Security Advisor. I'm sure many of them wished they could get her autograph after her speech.
There is a reason the term Bush Derangement Syndrome is now in Wikipedia and elsewhere. As far as Bush, Cheney and Rice being prosecuted, I think the only logical solution is to hold your breath until that happens."

STUPIDDUMBASSLIBERALASSHOLE.....yes. it's a long name but then when you think about, why not, liberals can rant for hours and not say anything of any importance..

Dear Frank, Vermont is an interesting State with thousands of interesting people living there.
We use to drive up through the mountains of New Hampshire for the scenery and to view a world wonder, our Old Man of the Mountain. Don't do that no more, the wonderful State of NH had so little value on this treasure that it spent very little money to preserve the natural formation that drew in the tourest money and was a symbol of the State. One of a kind in the world it was said.
Driving down the road one day listening to talk radio a Boston reporter came on to announce that during the night the Old Man had, due to little care slid off the mountain and was no more. I was as surprised as quite a few other drivers and had to pull off the road.
Cover up, cover up, a national and state treasure gone.
So when we decided to take a lookie loo later, we got lost some how and ended up in Vermont, Montpelier and decided to spend the night and look around.
We found the police had blocked off roads for some kind of a bike race, here came a couple hundred people riding their bikes stark naked. That was something we had never seen before.
We spent the night in a small B&B and when I asked the other guests if they had seen the race, it was the reason they had come to this town, to partcipate in the race. WOW, what is in the water in this state ???
Please don't get me wrong here, had we known about the race most likely we would have grabbed a camera and gone to take pictures, however, this was not SF. or a Rainbow Gathering, we had just driven out of Gods Country, mountains and lakes into a small town with a couple hundred folks riding bikes naked .
Just can't get away from the crazys, we both had zero tollerence of drugs and work and the smell of pot caused us to keep to our room with the windows open all night. Most of these people were locals so I wonder what happens when thousands of tourests come to Ski in the winter-------- Smoke On The Water, Fire In The Night.

Maybe living an hour and a galaxy away from SF helps me understand v111's post. I think she said that Vermont has its share of strange people.
