1. cube steaks
Mashed potatoes, brown gravy, sweet peas, whole grain rolls. Gonna fry up the cube steaks and then simmer them in the gravy. The mashed potatoes are going to be instant, but when you cook for seven adults, you cut the corners you need to cut. And the rolls are from the bakery down the street, but I don't bake or use the oven during the summer if I can avoid it.

it's been sandwiches and cereal all week. still have that kale in the fridge, so we'll have that sauteed over pasta.

3. Waves alloo
Antipasto & garlic bread, I think.
We have a great selection of marinated goodies to choose from, and it's hot enough to want something light.

Twice stuffed baked potatoes.
Simple, classic stuff.

6. Mu Shu Pork
Congratulations, Galileo, on your ovens!
Today we had workmen in and I got a new storm door going out of my utility room, which is just off my kitchen.
Lots of yard work done by them, too. Tree branches, lawn mowed, etc.

7. A roasted chicken
cooking over a steaming mass of lovage, tarragon and chives from the garden. I'm scrambling for sides, pretty much ran myself out of vegetables, I've got one giant bell pepper and some celery I'm gonna serve with blue cheese dip. I'm also making a cranberry rhubarb sauce with lemon mint simmered in it. Too much lemon mint. Turns out a couple of leaves would have been fine, I didn't need a whole stalk.
I have another $15 in kmart points built up ready to blow on vegetables, but I don't want to spend the gas to drive there for that (17 miles round trip) and it was raining today. If the weather's nice tomorrow I might bike over and stock up again. Biking might be good, my bunion's a bit sore from running 5 miles yesterday - the first 5 mile run I've done in probably 30 years.
How do you sauté a leaf?
I told you, it's a dildo.
I have a more interesting question.
This is something, probably a kitchen implement, that's owned by a primitive.
What the devil does one suppose it is?(http://i949.photobucket.com/albums/ad335/photoatcc/misc/thing_zps43d56c0c.jpg) (http://s949.photobucket.com/user/photoatcc/media/misc/thing_zps43d56c0c.jpg.html)

It's some sort of accupressure massager.

Well, another enigma.
That white oval-like thing strapped to the ample waist.
It looks, vaguely, like one of those stand-up air deodorizers one finds in finicky women's home bathrooms (the same sort of women who put carpets on the lid of their commodes), but I can't think of why one would wear an air deodorizer.
