Imagine going to a website where the most important thing to you is not the content of the discussion, but when someone responds to one of your posts:

Admit it - you are like a moth to a flame when your My Posts turns yellow

1. I get all excited!

I don't get many, so it's a big occasion for me!

4. Not really...

I get sorta scared thinking someone has posted some nasty reply that will cause me to go into a deep depression lasting a week or more depending on how many swear words they used.

and if that's not the reason, it's got to be that someone posted an innocuous reply that doesn't really require me to reply back, but I'm afraid if I don't reply, the person will think I'm ignoring them, but if I do reply back, it'll be something so lame that I'll look like a moron.

11. ...at least Admins fixed it so replies from ignored people don't turn the tab yellow.

It was depressing to get all excited about the yellow tab only to discover that the lone reply was from "you are ignoring this member."

20. I can ignore it for awhile sometimes

in favor of new material.

But love seeing the bright yellow!

24. My 'My Posts' tab doesn't turn yellow when someone replies to me.

In my default browser it just changes to underlined text.

I'm surprised there aren't three or four other threads now with the same subject, just started by different primitives.

I like seeing it when one of my Tweets make it to Twitchy, or when I get a reply from a well known person. Is that the same ?

This is why we laugh at you crazy idiots.

Can you imagine how frenzied they are during DOTY voting?

Can you imagine how frenzied they are during DOTY voting?

That's why, beginning last year, the voting was by secret ballot only.

Back in the days when one could vote either by secret ballot or by public ballot on a thread here, the primitives would get a pretty good idea how it was going, and lose interest if they weren't emerging as a likely winner.

Now, no one knows until the awards are given out, and it's fun to keep the anxious primitives in suspense for a whole month.

Turns yellow?  Like a dog peed on it?  And that's exciting?

I just don't

Jeez, talk about insecure.  Going into a "deep depression" over someone who posts a counter or negative reply is prooof of a deep psychosis.

Probably more like a "golden shower" in the Castro District...  :gay:
