Title: Family barbecue ends with riot charges
Post by: bijou on July 05, 2008, 09:43:35 AM

Quote
Six people were charged with rioting after a large Fourth of July family barbecue turned into a brawl, according to Anchorage Police Department spokesman Paul Honeman.

... Between 20 and 30 people were involved in the melee that erupted around dinnertime Friday on Kluane Avenue off Muldoon Road. Police responded in riot gear. Officers used a Taser to subdue one family member, Honeman said.

Hope everyone here had a slightly more restrained 4th July.  :-)

This makes me sad for the days before my wife's family got older and started dying off.

I know what you mean.  I read those headlines and then realize, the principle fighters are all gone now...  :bawl:

You two could come to my reunion in Kentucky.  Half are felons and the other half are fundamentalist Christians.  But, when it comes to someone even looking at our family wrong we are all ready to throw down. :-)  We welcome anyone who wants to be a part of the family.  Honestly, about half have no blood relation at all but we still call them our cousins, aunts, and uncles.

I am so sorry to have upset people by reminding them of past years of alcohol fuelled brawling happy family togetherness.  :lmao:

I pretty much have to not see my dad's family during election seasons. It's not me that has the problem, but it's their snippy little useless comments crediting all the ills in the world back to Reagan and Bush.

Learn a handful of arabic phrases and when they ask you what you are doing, tell them you are using the language we would all speak under gore or kerry and will speak under jussein.

When my cousin in law starts going off about Republicans I now just laugh and say "You guys pinned all of your hopes on Obama!!!!"  Then laugh until I almost pee my pants.

When I am around hussein supporters I start doing my imitation of the Rush commercials: "The past is the past and it isn't the future, which is hopeful.  So hope for hope and I will give yo uthe hopeful future -- and that is hopeful."

Then, time permitting, I ask how that differs from the message of a junior Senator who has voted "present" and has never had a real job in his life.  I usually get nervous Bush bashing.  There usually isn't time for proper making fun of BDS.

I'm the token liberal at family gatherings.  Of course being the youngest child of the patriarch protected me for years when I made such obviously insane liberal views as:
"Brother o' mine...do you really think a fully loaded automatic AK-47 is the appropriate gift for your twelve year old daughter's birthday?  A pony perhaps?"    Or.."Brother o' mine, you are in your forties now, maybe you should have called 911 instead of taking a crowbar to the punk kid stealing gas from your stockpiled barrels?"   Always met with chuckles and good natured ribbing of course about how protected and spoiled the baby is...too bad she turning into such a flaming do gooder liberal.... :thatsright:

You just need to start handling the truth better. Typical Freeper to just put the fingers in their ears and ignore the truth.
