How many paychecks can you miss before you are homeless?

Cant do a poll, but knowing you would get minimal monies from unemployment and minimal food stamps, thanks ENTIRELY to rightwing motherphuckers (lets not drag clinton and his deal with newt into this please), how many paychecks?

You get one every two weeks, so two paychecks is one month, etc. Lets say that anyway for most of us.

4. I get paid weekly...

And my salary is good as well, but my cost of living is high as well (NYC). I save regularly what I can, but that being said, I would probably have to miss about 6 months of paychecks before I wipe out my savings and am living on the street or somewhere substantially different.

Btw, I'm 32 yrs old so my pensions aren't a reality. Draining my annuity might buy me a few more months though.

14. What good is government if it doesn't take care of The People?

What good is the defense budget if Americans are living on the streets? What exactly are we defending? The right to live in poverty?

I believe the govt should provide the following to all citizens:

3 hots & a cot
healthcare
child/elder care
education K-college
a comprehensive nationwide public transportation system
a digital kit, including hardware & subscriptions to basic internet services (Hey, if the ****ers are going to spy on us they can at least provide us with free service.)

I'm curious how much this would cost.
DUmmy forgot about the government-paid vacation.

7. depends on when you ask

I can retire from the military in the fall of 2017...at that point, I'll be under 50 but getting about 45K-55K a year (depending on whether I get promoted one more time) in military retirement pay.
I'd assume worst-case that will keep me off the streets.

DUmmy depends on a drawn-out foreclosure process for security:

15. I assume about 2 years for complete homelessness

I'm paid on my mortgage until August. I have about 9000 in the bank. I have only a few thousand in retirement (I'm in my 20s). I figure the 9000 in the bank would keep me going for about 4-5 months after August if Im very frugal. After that the forclosure process would start, and it would probably take a year for them to kick me out. However, during that year, I couldn't afford any of my bills (unless I was lucky enough to get unemployment) so even though I'd have a home, it would be one without heat, electricity, or water, while I wait to get kicked out my home.

Finally, an honest democrat:

16. 0 or rather whenever my parents die

I haven't worked in over half a decade. Other than a few years in life, I never made enough to support myself so when my parents die, I'll be on the streets.

I could live off my retirement for a few years. But if worse came to worse. I would buy a round trip ticket to Hawaii (one way ticket's are suspicious),  buy camping supplies there, find an unreachable place, pack my stuff in, and live off the land. I would have a little garden, fish for dinner, and enjoy my twilight years in peace.

I would not stay on one of the main islands, but a small island would be just right. So I would have to buy a boat as well.

I've already got a place scoped out, I won't tell you where. But I will say I will live with far more dignity than a DUmmy eking out a govt provided existence in a slum.

Quazplm is completely full of crap per his $45 to $55K military retirement unless he is a Lt Col hoping for promotion to full Col.

Sometimes you have to be thankful that DUmmies lie about nearly everything, nearly all the time.

The idea that there could be an American colonel with three thousand posts at the DUmp is scary.

I think your public enemy #1's list could be modified a bit.
He(she) mentions comprehensive public transportation.
If you with hold luxury cruise ships, first class airline travel, and even space travel, you are with holding basic human rights.
As for K- college education, if you with hold higher degrees in any amount or discipline, the same applies.

Yeah that.  Of course, DUmmies and math, planning, or economics are mortal enemies, so I expect that even if that one is a non-mole who is actually in service, its calculations are off by a factor of two in the Government's favor.

BTW, 'Eligible' would mean 'Completed 20 years of active duty,' you'd have to be a ring-knocker suckass of the worst sort or Erwin Rommel, George Patton, and Stonewall Jackson reincarnated in one package to retire at 20 years as a colonel, with the three years time in grade it takes to get paid as one in retirement safely concluded by the end of that 20th year.

Naw. It ain't a mole. Moles are way more subtle than that, DD. At least the ones that work for me at the VWRC HQ. If it is one of my people's moles... it's a damn piss poor one. I guess I better go down to mole central of the VRWC center and find out.

21. And yet the vast majority of Americans including MANY democrats think the problem is the poor

are gaming the system.

I look at them as if I am hearing a foreign language...I want to reach out and slug them in the arm and scream at them

Well, it looks like we found Mr. Gueermo:

It's like they never heard of Dave Ramsey. It's like they were never told there will be rainy day.

That's because they expect other people to pay for their rainy days.

When you don't have to hold yourself accountable for any of your own actions, there is no such thing as a rainy day.

Omgosh, I can't believe someone would be that lazy.  Someone has to pay for that stuff.  I work all the time and I'll be damnned if it's to support a lazy person like that!

I believe our prison system provides most if not all of the above....

3 hots & a cot...yes

healthcare...yes

child/elder care...yes, if you had kids the state will provide them with foster care.

education K-college...yes....what education you didn't get in the public education system, you can finish and get your college degree while lock up.

a comprehensive nationwide public transportation system...yes...and you will be well protected while traveling.

a digital kit, including hardware & subscriptions to basic internet services (Hey, if the ****ers are going to spy on us they can at least provide us with free service.)...yes you also get your computer and internet at no cost to you.
