First Lady Michelle Obama's daughters attend Sidwell Friends, and their meals include hot lunches that are prepared every day fresh-from-scratch. The company that caters the food, Meriwether-Godsey, uses chefs to prepare the food on-site - from scratch - with local and organic foods where possible.

Here's a sampling of the school's "soup of the day": Borscht, Tuscan white bean, Italian bean and kale, calico wild rice, Thai chicken coconut soup, local butternut squash soup, chilled cucumber and mint soup, and chilled blueberry soup.

Other delectable lunch items include:

How difficult is it to screw up a school lunch? Feeding kids ought to be a no brainer.
But.
A liberal can screw up even the most basic of tasks. Try telling a liberal, "Hey, this isn't working!" The liberal will not listen, he is convinced that he is so much more intelligent than us little people.

I really hate F*cking liberals.

Hey, if public school lunches are such wonderful fare, why not serve the same food at the school(s) B & M's daughters attend? Have the kids review the food and send copies of the reviews to the WH (the reviews could be English Comp assignments!).

Of course, the WH mailroom might have to be disinfected if the kids send samples ...

I am still unsure why the freaking Federal Government is telling our State funded schools what they must feed OUR kids.   I will personally sell my left nut for the first Governor to refuse any Federal funds for his/her states school system.

States are in a no-win position on it.  Their businesses and citizens all have to pay the Fed income tax that supplies the money, and in order to get their share of it back, they have to offer whatever the Federal programs demand in order to get the money.  I'm not sure, but I believe some of the programs are interlocking as well, for instance to get the State's share of the money for Program A, they have to also comply with Programs B and C.  And there is absolutely zero chance of a Federal court ever ruling that the Federal government has to give back a proportional amount of the tax revenue they take from a State that refuses to participate in the Federal programs that would have given the money back to them if they obeyed all the requirements.

Stop the insanity.  Ditch the school lunch program and brown bag it.

Better yet, homeschool.
