Oh my.
You know, Skins really needs to screen mentally-ill primitives seeking admission to Skins's island, because there's some who really need to be under cloistered professional care, and not hanging around with the primitives.
This is the primitive whose husband allegedly tried to axe-murder her eighteen years ago, and yet she still stayed with him.

My sister went to school dressed sharp in her Catholic uniform...I, on the other hand, had a sagging bow, and my pleats were ironed out and the skirt shinny.....I looked like a vagabond...

1. I would hazard the guess that your mom was mentally ill. Beyond that, I don't know.
I'm so sorry you had to endure this bad treatment at her hands.

Now, that is weak, weak, weak, on Margaret's part.
The CalPig primitive is a retired medical professional; she's seen just about everything and anything, and can tell in an instant if someone needs locked up for his or her own good.
And the primitives listen to the CalPig primitive; she's got credibility with them.
If the CalPig primitive told the anguished primitive, "Shut up, log off (and don't come back again), and run, not walk, to the nearest psychiatric hospital," the primitive'd do it.
Margaret's hesitation in giving such advice and counsel inevitably leads one to suspect that, really, the CalPig primitive doesn't care.

I tell every one to see Boxing Helena...it is my life...I used to claim unless he cut off my arms and legs I am responsible for my own actions..
Well he cut off my arms and legs..not actually, figuratively...
no running water...we have to depend on him for water...no transportation...he purchases all food....and I used to cook food and clean up...then he refused to bring me water from the basement...and empty dirty water in the yard...(cut off my arms)
Nowadays when you call the police they show up in GI gear ready to kill someone...I don't want that.
I cannot say I love him, but I do care that he lives and has a life...

5. sounds like what is happening now is the trouble.
tho i have spent time stuck back there, i think i am just wondering where my strength went.
cops arent the only ones out there who can help extricate you.
but if you think it could end up that way, i would to read that as you fearing that he can be dangerous and irrational.
yes, we see the occasional front page splash. but that doesnt mean that there is no chance of hope that you will get help. in fact there is a quite high chance that there is help for you.
i dont know your situation, so i wouldnt know what might apply.
but you dont deserve this.

I'm just wondering, Dori, if he really did it or if it all occurred in her mind? With the dummies you never can tell. If it did really happen, then the dummie needs to run as far and as fast as she can from the jerk before she ends up taking the eternal dirt nap by his hand. If it didn't, then she needs some real professional help before she ends up taking the eternal dirt nap by her own hand.
Either way, if she doesn't do something, it's looking like she won't be long for this Earth. The last thing she needs to be doing is hanging at the dump.
Sad.

Well, this one in particular shouldn't be hanging around Skins's island.
There's a difference between "accepting" and "enabling," but primitives usually think they're the same thing.
You and I and everybody else here has at one time or another, or even more often than that, "accepted" someone mentally-ill.
But I doubt any of us has ever encouraged, aided, abetted any of those mentally-ill people in their confusion.
The primitives on the other hand have a demonstrated habit of making mentally-ill people even more mentally-ill. I won't bother citing examples; there's too many of them, and most are well-known cases anyway.

Let me give two examples of how we deal with it.
When conservativecave first got underway, there was a member of good repute, someone who'd gotten here the same way I did--through P-J Comix's DUmmie FUnnies, and then our old home, and then this place.
This member had some really bad experiences--enough to drive anyone nuts--a few months into conservativecave, and began falling apart. This member "lost it," and was posting all sorts of really personal, and some deranged, material. This member was nuts, absolutely bonkers.
Just before it started spinning out of control, other members here gently prodded this member into posting only in non-public forums, where other members advised and counseled this member to seek professional help, and gave tips on where to find it.
This member acted on those things, and last I heard (this was years and years ago, remember), was turning life around. This member is no longer a member, but escaped making an ass, a travesty, a joke, of herself. She left with her dignity still intact.
Compare that, please, with how primitives interact with the mentally-ill primitives.
A few years after that, there began problems with another member, someone well-esteemed and who'd been around for a long time, beginning at our old home.
There were really weird comments coming from this member.
Fortuitously, this member chose to confide in franksolich, that he'd been diagnosed in the early stages of Alzheimer's.
I held his hand for a bit, and then reported to the administrators and moderators the problem, suggesting ways of dealing with it. They all fully cooperated in enabling him to not make an ass of himself.
As his condition worsened, I reported to long-time members of conservativecave, outlining the problem and suggesting ways of dealing with it. They all fully cooperated in enabling him to not make an ass of himself.
He's gone now, having reached the end stages of Alzheimer's.....but he left with his dignity intact; he hadn't made an ass, a laughingstock, of himself.
Compare that, please, with how primitives interact with the mentally-ill in their midst.

It's why they have so much sport with their dead baby puppet shows after a notorious shooting episode.
They WANT human misery. Each person's misery is a weapon to be used against The Others!

Other people's misery gives them the tools they need ot blame it on someone else. Poverty is the fault of the rich. Death is the fault of those who would defend themselves. It's never from sloth or cowardice, it can't be; they're too perfect.

You know, there's some mentally-ill primitives who've done okay hanging around Skins's island; the Pilgrim primitive, the "HereSince1628" primitive's a good example. He's a tough old bird. And there's also the locust primitive, the "Locut0s" primitive, who has the sensitivity of a rock.
There's no way their mental decreptitude's going to be affected.
And then there's others, who were certainly affected by all the "enabling" their fellow primitives did, making them more mentally-ill than ever. Any caring person would've banned the subway cat, the "undergroundpanther" primitive, the first time she showed up, because it was so obvious the primitives would cater to, and add to, her delusions and illusions.
Ditto the Odin2005 primitive, and Dennis the Menace; the primitives did them no favors, constantly reassuring them that their fears and paranoia were legitimate.
Talk about aiding-and-abetting.

It's obvious that this woman is as sick as the man who abuses her. They have been doing this dance of Russian roulette for a couple of decades.
I don't see a good end to this relationship.
