Oh my.
Nothing special here; just a friendly reminder to the cooking and baking primitives that even though franksolich has been busy with other things, he's still watching their hints of criminality and suggestions of sedition.

What's for Dinner ~ Wednesday ~ May 21st
^^^missed posting the day before, and the drone the fizzy one had to do it; one assumes dear old sweet Lu had a nasty case of the runs or something.

1. Last night we had a mess of popeye's with sides and some freshly grilled boudin from jennings, LA.
Y*m!
Today, a group of the guys have gone fishing and we are hopefully going to have a bunch of fish to fry up.

2. Pasta with sardines and bread crumbs.
It's a variation of a NYT recipe I've been meaning to try for a while.

3. Pizza
I keep the dough in the fridge—the 5-minute-a-day recipe—so it will be quick to assemble. Probably I'll top it with mushrooms and green peppers.

5. prob'ly something at a restaurant
after I pick up my friend at the airport--if we're hungry, that is. I'm working straight through pick-up time, cleaning, putting things away, etc. I'm getting through it 'cuz I know there will be many fun mealtimes in the week ahead!
^^^busy, busy, busy, busy, all the time busy as a busy bee.

8. Something fried. LOL.
I have a few bucks from work I did on a grant. Don't fry much at home. Small place and it reeks of fried food for days no matter how I try to do it. So - it's either fish 'n chips or fried chicken downtown.

10. Ah. Fried chicken, sauteed asparagus, fried sweet potatoes, cole slaw. Strawberries 'n cream.
The chicken had a buttermilk/flour coating; sweet potatoes were done with bell pepper and red chilies, asparagus was served with a lemon/dill/butter sauce; cole slaw was sweet and tangy; strawberries 'n cream set on a little biscuit of some sort.
Much more than I could eat at one sitting, so I saved a bit of each to bring home. Save for the strawberries 'n cream.

12. how are those bunnies?
Did I ever get a laugh out of your post yesterday. The sr. center story sounded like something out of "Waiting for God."
My friend and I picked up grilled ribs and chicken at a takeout place I've patronized before. It's good. Pricey but good. We were both ravenous, so we didn't care.
Came home and had it with red wine, Mike's Mango, coleslaw, rice pilaf, and roasted potatoes.
Tomorrow we are headed for the Jersey Shore. We are going to sit on the shore and go to a seafood place. Haven't been there since Sandy, so I'm sure there will be surprises for me.

13. I didn't see any bunnies today
They may have moved on to another yard. I had mixed feelings about them anyway. Adorable.....but oh my pot garden vegetables!
Have a wonderful time with your friend! There's nothing like catching up with someone you haven't seen for some time. I reunited a couple of years ago with a cousin I hadn't seen since I was a teenager. We were very close as children. Lordy, we will never run out of things to talk about and things to put on our bucket list to do together.
<<<wonders if Judy grasswire's enjoying the new saga of the Packer clan; it's dedicated to her.
<<<hopes she is.

First and second dinner?

One thing you have to say for crazy fizz, she doesn't make up pretentious imaginary dinners like the other cooking crones.

The rabbits are probably stoned out in the yard somewhere desperately trying to find some cheetos.

I'm very glad that NJCher had the decency to purchase restaurant meals for her visiting friend. I read the thread with mounting dread...

I thought crazy fizzy was so poor that she could barely afford one meal of Raman noodles or corn meal mush per day.
