Does the ACA mandate coverage for vasectomy, and if not, why?

I know it covers tubal ligation, but the issue is that the guy i'm with now doesn't want kids and I may be losing my IUD (lots of bleeding, think Kubrick elevator scene....) soon. I can't do hormones, they do terrible things to my hormonal balance and I've had a hard enough time losing weight. I'm at a healthy weight now despite lots of meds that encourage weight gain, and don't want to risk going clinically hypothyroid again like the last time I was on the Pill. Besides, I'm getting older.

I am undecided on whether or not I want to have kids someday, so I do not want to do a tubal. It'd be covered. A vasectomy, however, we don't know if it would be. I would think it should be fair if they cover tubal ligation for them to also cover vasectomy.

Thanks for any advice.

That's a quality long term relationship right there... guess she figures the BF isn't her longterm choice? RUN AWAY!!! RUN AWAY!!! she WILL have your balls in her purse, literally!

you can walk into any gas station and get a box of Trojans for less than five bucks.
Not if your name is Sandra and those trojans are completely out of your budget.

3. So they aren't required to cover vasectomies? That rather stinks.

I don't know if he enrolled yet, he just lost his job. We'll have to call around and see if the companies cover it despite the fact they aren't required to.
Poor guy, just lost his job and now she's trying to get him trimmed.  If I may offer a suggestion....

For a little under $10, they'll never have to worry about unwanted pregnancy ever again! The primitives could send it around and the value would be even better with each use!  Heck, when they all pass out around the drum circle, just fix them all right there. All of the illicit drugs and pot in their systems means they won't feel a thing!

Oh my God, why so much information in the OP?

So he just lost his job and this is what they're worrying about?  I can just see them "calling around to see if the companies cover it."  My impression is that she thinks it's free.  She's hasn't met Mr. Deductible yet.

....My impression is that she thinks it's free.  She's hasn't met Mr. Deductible yet.

The day that Mr. Stud meets Mr. Deductible will be one for the record books. That will be the same day that Mr. Stud discovers that DUmmy moriah has finally got off her fat butt and you know,,left.

Mr. Stud then is all of a sudden neutered, unemployed, partnerless and in debt for a snip job.

A "healthy" girl means something completely different down here.  You can usually spot the "healthy" ones sitting with their perpetual yard sales, waddling to the bingo parlor or parking in the local golden corral.

For non-dummies, that would be morbidly obese or circus fat lady.

nadin has advised us that she and her doctor have agreed her body has reset at its normal weight.

So she's the picture of health, a candy apple on a popsicle stick.

Give it a month and you can take it up with the next "guy I'm with now."

And please don't reproduce.

She could try using the family planning method.  Oh but that's free and would be her responsibility so I guess that's out. :whatever:

Just swallow and you will be safe.  :bird:

We need some kind of award system for folks who give really outstanding advice.

Why are the DUmmies so convinced that the American people are responsible for paying for their recreational sexual activities?

Is the time going to come where they demand the taxpayers pay for season tickets to their favorite sports team or annual passes for Disneyland?

It was originally going to be covered, but then Gina suggested a less expensive alternative.

If I were allowed to post over there I might do my public service for the week and inform the primitive that she is experiencing the classic symptoms of cervical cancer. It usually goes undiagnosed until, well, until it's too late.

Never mind what was I thinking.

Just guessing, based on a lot of the photos DUmmies have posted of themselves, a 'healthy weight' for them is anything that doesn't peg the meter on a livestock scale.

They're not married... just dating, right?  She wants her boyfriend to get a vasectomy because he doesn't want kids?  I'm sure he just doesn't want kids with her...

I'm not even going to feel sorry for the guy because he is staying with a woman he's not even in a serious relationship with to get snipped.

Does anyone else think this person could be moling?

Vasectomies aren't covered under ObamaCare. His law only panders to the sluts and welfare moms. The OP might be pointing this out in an obtuse way.

Well a common complaint about IUD's is excessive bleeding.

Surprise for the girlfriend, for 6-9 or more months after a cutting a man can produce some sperm and the partners have to use some kind of BC until the sperm count shows it is safe.      Before DNA became sophisticated many a nasty divorce came about because the wife got pregnant 2-3 months after hubby was fixed.

- The guy could just take ridiculously hot baths. A man taking a bath as hot as he can stand will kill his swimmers off for several days. - Oh, wait. Nevermind. Primitives aren't known for taking baths voluntarily, are they ?

It's a hard lesson learned.

Those babies born with very dark skin conditions are also entertaining for the expectant father. lol.

My guess for DUmmie females would be sub-400lbs...

Everything above would be considered "normal wieght"

More than one DUmmy has shuffled off the mortal coil or had an appendage removed because of their weight.  What is a healthy weight for a normal person?  Definitely not that.

Oh Vesta, I missed you.  But no, it's not 6-9 months.  lol  My husband just recently had a vasectomy.  It doesn't take that long to show a zero sperm count.  Once the sperm count shows zero, we no longer have to use other BC methods.

This is true.  When I had my vasectomy, I was hitting zero within a month.

That's what the doctor told my husband too.  He has his appointment to make sure he's at zero within a week or two.

When horses and cattle, dogs and cats are gelded they become more passive.

Does this work on male humans   ?
