HA! I just got my first painting sale! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
And how it came about was ...
The lady contacted me via Facebook after she did some looking up of info. She found info that I posted about "Road of Life" here on DU, but she first heard about it... on a "conservative" web site!
That's right! She got her interest in my work from them bashing me!
I sent her the info for the studio, and was just called by the gallery to tell me it is sold and is getting shipped out tomorrow!
Happy Birthday to me!

3. You sold "Road of Life"? Congrats, but I would have bought that sucker!
I liked it a lot!
You still have pics of it, I hope...
Shouldn't we get a cut for advertising?
:rotf:
She thinks this is some way to get your goat. Trouble is, who believes her about this any more than her other posts?
Shouldn't we get a cut for advertising?
:-) I would think so. Fair is fair
Try to make heads or tails of her story of how the woman found the painting. Then try to find the CC thread where we discussed it in the Google results. Anywhere.
Sorry, Amber. Try harder next time.
Even if it were true, Amber is only proving my point that we give her more exposure over here than she will ever get at the DUmp.
Trouble is, who believes her about this any more than her other posts?
Perhaps, if it were true. Either one of the jokers over here bought her "art", or Amber spun another tall tale.Maybe she'll bring back the dyke biker for another story.
Any minute now, I'm expecting her to make another post about Chief White Cloud.

Ok, who's going shooting this weekend and needed a target? :rotf:
Interesting clue. Some here do that professionally. First suspects that come to mind are Big Dog and Tucker.
Battlehymn also offers another clue: A gag gift for a CC get-together. Who, as we speak, has stickied in the lounge, a thread about a baconfest meet-up? Again: Big Dog.

Also: Who was the first one to accuse another caver, Gina, of the deed? Again: Big Dog.

I got 5 dollars for one of my paintings!!!
Wasn't me, I swear!
The frames for the paintings cost more then what is got from Auction.
Someone actually paid money for that?Probably not. LFR simply taking shots at the Cave.

It looks like graphics from a 1980s video game.
WHERE'S MY COMMISSION?
You don't want what Amber would give for a commission.Antibiotic resist is it?
Antibiotic resist is it?
Buy 2 hand jobs get a free painting."Sold" in libspeak is a loose definition. Traded for drugs would fit it.

I doubt any of Amber's will be worth anything, but it may be worth a gamble to some.

This is phony, but I can Dream!
This is not the one that sold and this was photoshoped by some CONservatives. But I can dream!
Oh my!
And she makes another post with a cute little vertical line of V, with an admission that she lurks on CC.Continuing the pretense that a kindergarten quality refrigerator door drawing was sold.

4. Love it!
And so would the President if he saw it.
I swear don't know if I like this piece or the one that sold better... I really like your concepts.

5. Thank you!
I like to use symbols and ideas, then let the mind do the rest.

This, to me, is mind boggling. I can understand giving praise to a 7 year old and hanging the fingerpainted hand on the refrigerator, but the comments from the DUmmies (like the example posted here) are ridiculous. She is NOT a 7 year old, and the time for facing reality is upon her.
I once entered an art contest in junior high school by getting my three dogs and two cats to walk on a 2x3 canvas with different-colored painted paws, and called it "Animal House."

Anything that can evoke nostalgia for someone for a time they weren't even alive for has something special in it. Those are great.
Oh, oh, look at who's getting an E-Piff-O-Nee...

Anyone remember William Hung ?
The guy had absolutely no talent.
Why didn't his friends tell him to prevent him from making a complete fool of himself ?
A friend who won't tell you your weaknesses to protect you from being hurt aren't friends at all.
LFR has no such friends.
William Hung reminds me of her.
Someone actually paid money for that?
The signature at the bottom looks like "O S Buthead".
Why is Amber over here for any reason?

That's probably the best art Norman Rockwell ever did; I think it's from 1951 (not sure), and was the cover of the Saturday Evening Post Thanksgiving of that year.
It's awesome, the grandmother and grandson saying grace in a greasy-spoon joint near a big city bus station, the coarse hardened truck drivers looking on in wonder.
It's not the full picture; I just happened to have this one in photobucket.
Amber can shove her "art" up her ass and smoke it.
Rockwell"... visited Automats and diners in New York and Philadelphia to get the scene just right ...

Actually, there was a few more things, but Photobucket is extremely limited in re-edits.
The last post was 11:15am Friday and nobody's been back to the thread.
